LOL why are people making such a big deal about the pedal being trimmed? It's at the bottom of your feet that you never see anyways. You'll be fine.

I went in for a oil change and got a different service adviser and he had it done without asking, I wasn't happy either, but I thought it would probably look good on the carfax when I trade it in.

I'm still training my adviser, but he's learning, don't do anything that I don't specifically request.

Don't inspect anything, DONT FRIGGIN ADD WASHER FLUID!, and don't pull my glove box out for the 8000th time to check my air cabin filter.

They are learning, you just have to stick the say guy and do a little routine training.

I originally declined it the last time the truck was in because I saw the pictures of the hack job they did. This time they just did it, along with the reflash and honestly, if I didn't read it on the work order, I never would have known they did it. It drives the same so far but I'll be curious if there's any change when you drive with big boots. If there is, I'll find another pedal.

The reflash, I don't know what it's supposed to do, I didn't read the full recall, but I noticed there's no more lurch when shifting from first to second. Otherwise, I haven't been able to see any difference in how it drives. I haven't driven it much since the work was done but my morning commute didn't show any notable changes.

the reflash mostly makes it so you can't power brake it... at least on the pruis ;) so say miraculously you randomly start accelerating, if you push on the brake to a programed point, the ECM cuts power to the engine

Besides the brake override , I believe they are also reflashing the auto tranny shifting mapping which was done to other vehicles as a stand alone TSB earlier ( done to my 09 ) , this is to address the hard shifting / shift lag between 1st and 2nd . The truck shifts a lot smoother afterwards .

I've never noticed my truck shifting rough.

    Weird.

I believe it mostly applies to 2008 - 2010 , I saw the OP's truck is an 07 and thought it was odd that he would notice a difference . :notsure:

Nope, call it placebo effect or whathaveyou. I babied it out of the dealership which is why it was probably shifting smoother that night. Once the novelty of having my truck back and fixed wore off, it's back to it's old self (or I started driving like I normally do again). It shifts rough at slower speeds, it seems to shift at odd times and shift into the next gear and lurch forward because the truck wasn't going fast enough to shift yet. It's not a huge deal, just an annoyance.

I'm a few days in with the shaved pedal and still honestly can't tell a difference with the shortened pedal. I thought it would drive me nuts but I guess I was wrong. Still haven't tried driving with big ol' boots yet but I can't imagine it would be that different.

Next step with the dealership is getting them to do the drive-line TSB for the transmission mount. They 'forgot' to look at it when they had my truck all day so looks like I get to fight with them on Saturday now...

To the "who if they shave the gas pedal" I care because it looks like s--t! I own a Camry that was part of that car mat ,computer mess. They did the shave which is just grinding the plastic pedal and the steel it attaches to. It was a new car and the pedal looks like crap. They now have my, bought new 2009 Taco, in their sights! Not gonna happen! Now if they want to install a new remodeled pedal I'll be the first on line!
