I have the Weathertechs , I agree the pedal cannot be caught .

Interesting that some places are hacking the pedals without asking or doing so after being asked not too , but they let yours go with aftermarket mats .

I liked the old style ones ( still have them in a box in my shop ) , but I like my Weathertech digifits better .

Did you get reimbursed for the old mats ?

Idk if you call it reimbursed but since I wasn't the happiest camper after what they did they gave me a complimentary oil change, a donut, and a bottle of water...gotta love the stealership.

Nope, I got reimbursed for buying the WeatherTechs, I told them my pedal would get caught under the old mats and I only bought the new WeatherTech's because the pedal wouldn't get caught under them. It wasn't cash or anything, just a 200 dollar credit towards accessories or parts. (Got to keep the old mats also)

My dealership wouldn't have given me shit. I asked for a number in regards to possible reimbursement. I didn't think I'd actually get anything, but I wanted to try. I talked to some guy about what was going on, and he gave me a 200 dollar credit.:) I still have yet to decide what to spend it on.

Brought 2010 off road dbl cab in for a paint touch up on the dash and the TSB for the fan motor squeak, came back 3 hours later, terrible touch up job, fan motor was backordered with no time frame, and on the last line item it said reflash with pedal/floor mat mod. Absolutely went nuts considering i was not told or asked if I wanted the pedal shave done. Can't believe that they would alter my truck without my consent or authorization!! completely ILLEGAL! After reading all the horror stories about the pedal shave I had decided a lond time ago not to have the mod cause the trd floor mats are secured to the floor and shouldnt be a problem. They only thing the stealership said they could do would be to order a brand new pedal which is already modded to be shorter than the original one. Totatly BS about the whole experience I can't believe that a TRUCK would have such a small pedal anyone have any advice on toyota contacts or suggestions on getting the old style pedal back? BTW I am gonna be damn sure that whatever the resolution is they pay for it! thanks any input is appreciated

If Toyota sold me my house, and recently had a rash of national "unintended stuck window" issues that's led to really bad press and a drop of new mobile homes, and I took my house in for maintenance to the garage twice, and they made it standard procedure for all certified garages to perform this work unless explicitly asked not to (so as to cover their asses legally), then I wouldn't be that burnt up about it.

Besides, they didn't crack your pedal or break it so it's unusable, they simply changed its dimensions and its look, slightly. On a part that's not normally seen.

I dunno, I don't think your analogy is that fitting:D

If I had a failomatic transmission and was getting work done... I would take a cue card that says "DO NOT SHAVE GAS PEDAL" and stick it to the middle of the steering wheel.

If there is less pedal, can't it go further down increasing your top speed?:D

It's not a TSB, it's a safety recall. They are not required to perform TSB's, they are required to perform safety recalls or have you sign a waiver declining the work.

look at the one you have in your truck, it looks like that just a hair shorter. They did it to my wifes Highlander and I never noticed the difference and didn't even know it was done untill my wife told me a month later.

Ok, sort of a older thread resurrection, but hey I had so much fun reading it that I read several posts more than once. (Thanks ws02!)

I do however have a question... for those with manual transmissions, who had it done with or without consent, (LOL), what effect did the flash have, if any, on the dreaded generation II RPM / throttle hang?

    x2^^

I let off my pedal a millisecond before a shift, to let that damn throttle hang wind down, but haven't been able to control it while accelerating uphill, when the accelerator seems to hang at a block-bursting speed.
