its weird the black and white one had no flash and it was actually really cloudy outside...and they still all look squinty lol

and yeah, thats if i can get a photo pass. theres this professional photographer that goes by the name of Rukes (my idol) i LOVE his shots and ive always wanted to shoot raves, i love the lights an and emotion from everyone...and its such a good vibe being there...

First off im a HUGE fan. Love your work. (and mau5). anyways, I have always wanted to shoot shows/concerts and i read your "how you got started" but i guess my question is, did you just go to raves/shows and stuff with your camera? and just....shoot? is/was there any trouble getting in with an slr? ive never tried to take my (Nikon D700) to a show before...so i wouldnt know. but there is a local rave here in san diego this friday (with afrojack) and i wanted to take my camera with me to get some shots. now my lenses are sort of an issue i happen to love primes. so i have the 50mm 1.4, 60mm 2.8, i also have some sigma 28-80mm but im not too keen on as there is a lot of color fringing and its not very sharp. my next purchase will be the nikkor 24-70mm 2.8. but , anyways i was thinking of just taking the 50 1.4....

any advice would be great. Thanks Man!!

Hi Jacob,

I either asked the promoters for a photo pass, or the booking agent/managers of the DJ.

You should be fine with primes, depending on the club. I mostly shoot primes myself
