Well I was in for a happy morning when I showed up at my shop this morning. It seems that someone decided that they were in need of a car battery, and whatever else they could find.

Sometime last night or early this morning I had 2 of my customer's cars broken into. They successfully stole the battery out of one, and attempted to get the battery out of the other, but couldn't get it unbolted. That is going to bite into some company profit this month!

I have little to no sympathy for someone who does this kind of thing.

Bummer, This kind of shat drives me nuts! My brothers Cat was stolen off his 4 runner during the day at a mall, we assume battery powered sawzall because the whole section of exhaust was gone.

Enter German Shepard, Rottweiler, Doberman....and maybe one of those 24/7 security cams systems, you can get them on the cheap, Ebay, Harbor Freight...

That way you will at least have some way to ID the thieves...

Bama the old saying "it happens to the best of us" definately applies here:( Costco sells those digital surveillance systems at a pretty decent cost-I think online. Maybe you oughta get one in there.

Yeah, not much for a manhunt. It's been raining like hell here and the police said there is no way they could get prints, and they probably had gloves on anyway. Time for outside cameras!

Show me where in his post he was "crying".
Way to kick a guy when he was just stating he got hit.

Yeah. I am looking at some this morning. I mean I hate that it happened, and it would be one thing if it were my POV. But they broke into CUSTOMER vehicles. That can not only cost me on the insurance end, but in the long run. Will they trust their car to be safe at my shop again? Will they tell others, and then I lose out on potential customers? There is a lot more here than just a simple theft. This could cost me THOUSANDS in lost revenue.

we have a (i think its what its called) swann system at the house with about 6 cameras surrounding the house. i highly recommend them because you can download an app on your smart phone and log in and check in to see live feed. you can also rewind and view things and im not sure but its either stored on a harddrive or a cloud, either way its pretty sweet...sometimes creepy. every saturday when i leave the house and my parents aren't home i always get a text from my mom "i see you leaving... where ya goin?" lol

I hear you man...but it's kinda like your quote in your sig...you can easily overshadow the memory of what happened to their cars by how you respond to this situation for your customers. I know you'll make it right and the only thing they'll have to tell their friends is about the awesome customer service they got.

Already spoke to both of the customers. They seem to be ok with it, and were glad that I called and let them know what happened. Still having to wait to be sure nothing else was stolen. Once I get that info I can decide on course of action (either insurance claim or OOP) I already have the replacement battery coming for the one car. Thank god it wasn't an Optima! Haha

I agree with Ridgerunner. From what I've picked up in his many posts and the reviews from his customers here on TW, Bill is not one to cry and you, vbibi, are out of line in my opinion. Go screw your hat.
