gotta tell us where in socal it was taken from!

Chances are, if they intended to rob your garage and found the spare- the truck was not their target and wanted to joy ride in it. Cops will probably find it abandoned somewhere...hopefully...

That sucks. If it were me my rig would be gone too as I keep the keys hanging in the garage. At this point I would be hoping they didn't find it as I wouldn't want it back as I have seen a few vehicles that have come back recovered and they were always more trouble than they're worth after the fact. In most cases it's just easier to have the insurance deal with a total loss and start over.

Geez, it seems SoCal has a disproportionate number of theft posts on TW. Must be something in the water down there. Sorry to hear about the bad news.

People will steal light bulbs from your porch light if they needed one, shits so expensive out here.

I've actually had people go into my backyard to steal bags of cans for recycling

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
Yeah that did not work for me in college (University of North Florida) when my bronco was stolen. They found it stripped in Georgia a few months later. It happens everywhere. Best of luck recovering your truck.

Less than 5 million people in Alabama.. Pushing 40 Million in California.. I would have to believe that is the biggest contributor...

It's all in the mindset. If thieves knew they had a 98% chance of getting shot at - they would probably skip on entering someones property

    and the update.....

yup thats about it not much to report. meeting with the adjuster in the morning. They used my credit card at a gas station in Perris so once i found that out I drove to the Chevron and asked about security cameras and notified the detectives. I was about 1hr 45 minutes behind them so they had a good head start....6 other vehicles were broken into in our "gated community" last night. Come to find out the gate broke and was left wide open. Probably less than 60 total houses in this community. Thanks for the kind words most have offered, i do appreciate it.

Shoot a man for attempting to steal your vehicle and I can just about bet you wont be posting here anymore. You wont have a dime to your name or a leg to stand on in court whether that person lives or dies. Someone will sue, and they will win.
