All the manuals for your truck, 2 Fobs and the tailgate key, 4 clamps for the sliding rail in the truck bed. Make sure that all the headrests are on the backseats. Also you should get a square 4 connector plug that goes into the backup camera connection when you remove the tailgate. Make sure both side covers are present for storage spaces in the box area.

    Congrats on the new truck.

See if it has a "howling" noise around 30-45 mph.

    Congrats, and enjoy.

Are there alternative mountings given that some states are mandatory?

Just grab the FOB and go! You can check all that crap later. LOL. I think the most important is to ensure there are no body issues(paint, dings, scratches). everything else can be looked at once its in your driveway.

Just curious since Toyota hasn't done tranny dipsticks in years, what is the process to check the fluid? Seems like that is something that should not be a big deal.

I agree. You pay a lot of money for a new truck including dealer fees and all that good stuff. If a dealer is not willing to check a vital power train fluid without charging me again, that would almost be a deal breaker just on principle. If the no dip-stick design is meant to prevent owners from messing up the level, they certainly shouldn't mind an owner being concerned that their level is accurate before it's driven 30k before it's first scheduled check. And if you start with a cold vehicle and have a lift, it just doesn't take that long. All that said, I'll probably still check my own, being paranoid they didn't do it properly.

My question is how to check it "on my own". How do we do it? Is it a plug situation like the diffs?

Thanks renau. Good info, but I think I'll leave that one to the dealer. Fixed my curiosity though.

I've bought 2 new Tacoma's in my life. One in 2006, and a new 2016 just a couple months ago. BOTH times (different dealers) they forgot to give me the bed rail cleats. It was mentioned above, but definitely make sure you get yours.

Edit: Congrats on your new ride!
