None yet, but I'm pulling the pieces together.
Honestly I bought it with the idea of never really selling it.. not until maybe it had 300k miles or something crazy...

But if I HAD to sell it.. if I got in a situation where I HAD to sell the truck..

well I think it wouldn't really matter nor devalue your price much. if it wasn't all Toyota factory I would say yes.. but I think what would have a larger impact on price was miles and normal wear and tear

That doesn't look that bad IMO. That part that's bent is held in by studs  the bed is plastic, its probably not even damaged. I could be missing something though. I got rear ended by a 3/4 ton, not near as bad but my bumper looked like that. A day in the shop and good as new.

Anyone have a guess as to how long a fix like this can take? I'm supposed to be driving to Arkansas in a little less than 2 weeks

Obviously there a lot of unknowns in how long this can take..but lets say the parts don't take long to get..best guess anyone?

I meant to quote Jeffs post on it not hurting the value much. Don't be so sure. The Carfax will only show it as a major repair due to an accident which means most people will avoid the truck if he ever decides to sell it not to mention most dealers will not want it on a trade in either. My wife crushed a deer with her old 4Runner when it was 6 months old and the damage although only cosmetic carried a heavy price tag. The truck was repaired flawlessly as I am super anal when it comes to my vehicles and never gave it much thought afterwards. When we were looking to trade it in every dealer wanted it until they pulled the Carfax than they avoided it like the plague due to the report saying it had major damage due to the cost of the repair(Nearly $7K.) We eventually got rid of it but the Carfax report hurt it. I would most definitely push for the total. It's not like the old days where a vehicle could be repaired perfectly and you could get away without disclosing information about an accident. The Carfax will kill you if you ever get into a jam and need to unload it or you just decide one day you want to trade it on something new.

A friend had his '03 (I think) Tundra frame completely swapped last year due to rust starting from a rear crossmember that ended up compromising the frame (warranty). They had his truck in the shop for just over 2 weeks.

I would plan on finding something else to drive to Arkansas. I doubt your truck will even be being worked on in two weeks, let alone fixed, unless somehow the insurance companies have gotten faster at this stuff. It always takes way longer than you want.

Come on guys. There's a lot more going on here than just a bent frame. There's some body damage, a new bumper, new brackets, new hardware, labor alone will be expensive, plus rental car charges. It better be totaled. Grab a new one. Don't settle.

It's a get out of jail free card to do it over. Get a different color if you want. :D Make the best of it. Hell, you could be driving in a new truck in less than 2 weeks. Just saying.

    stock, for now
If they fix it..say thank you, take it to the nearest dealer and trade it in. I will never drive a vehicle that was in a wreck and have the frame fixed again.

    +1

As Beavis0076 said in his thread about his totaled truck, he doesn't want to own a truck that was rebuilt by a body shop.

... I completely agree with him too.

I'd refuse to take a hit that will haunt me down the road, from a black eye that won't go away from a Carfax report.... especially if it wasn't my fault. Screw that.

Push for a total loss, From my experiences that the vehicle devalues 20%-30%+ if you can find someone who will want to take it... Carfox won't say "fixed properly" but "major collision reported" or something like that.

What often happens in hits like this is: .......

    (1) Insurance company does not total it ... (2) frame shop gets it back to 95 to 98% ... (3) truck does not drive straight after frame fix ... (4) tires & suspension begin to wear in unusual pattern ... (5) owner get mad ... (6) owner trades and looses his azz due to wreck and car fax report ...

Stop the madness and be polite but very firm with them on a ... "lifetime performance to OEM specs warranty" ... if they want to fix it. I did this and it worked ... "You want to be made whole for your loss" ... is the term. ... Back to "exact OEM specs and performance" with OEM warranty. Don't settle for a "diminished value check" ... :D

Remember ... insurance wants out fast (with lowest costs) without long tern liabilities ...

Car fax will say frame damage. No one will want to buy that truck unless 40% or more off blue book.

A Toyota dealership told me it would take at least 5k off the value, and emphasized the AT LEAST...

She's bent. For your peace of mind (especially if you were ever planning on selling the truck,) you'll hope they call her totalled and just get a new truck. It sucks, but that's how it goes. Unless you're like me and you just drive shit til you cain't drive it no more. In that case, get it repaired and carry on. Sorry you're haftin' to deal with this, OP.
