Just wondering how a 2016 Taco to 2016 Taco trade thread got hijacked into the size of a Colorado bed thread.

.... and I'm home sick and grumpy, in bed.

hmmm.... I bet the difference would have paid for a nice bumper, an ARB rear locker and Icon suspension lift. That would have been a tough call.

That should be a sticky somewhere.

I'm thinking the suspension forum. See lots of 'do-overs' over there.

So OP, if you don't mind my asking, did you take a shot at selling your current truck yourself? There are buyers out there, and we hear all the rave reviews of Toyota values. I'd have thought you could have saved some money if you'd flipped it yourself......... no?

You pay a lot of tax on a new vehicle, compared to only paying tax on the price difference in an upgrade. (you do here anyway)

Here in lovely Pennsylvania you keep paying tax on the vehicle no matter how may owners it has, its ridiculous!!!!!! :annoyed:

Sometimes suspension needs change over time. So it makes sense that they change, not to mention those are wear and tear items. ;)

Short Story: I've always wanted the TRD OR 4X4. Getting a DCLB OR was going to take a long long long time. They had my current one on the lot and it seemed close enough. I blame the shiny wheels.

In use, i'm just not a fan of the LB. It is weird in parking garages (I'm coming from a 2013 Tundra 4x4) and in the tighter sections of my weekly light duty offroad doings. We do head up to Gila, NM a few times a year and I am concerned that extra length would hinder getting where I want to go (certainly had to fold my Tundra's mirrors and cross my fingers to make turns through the trees). I've dragged/banged the hitch backing out a steep drive a few times...places that my 2009 Tacoma Reg Cab (non-Prerunner) 2.7 4x2 would not. These are all things that seemed negligible on my two short test drives.

True if your state charges based at time of sale, as we do in Fl. But a smart seller just builds that into the pricing.

I've bought a few cars from individuals who were ticked with the trade in offer, because they were smart enough to work the salesman in such a way they knew the 'real' trade in they were getting. Basically wholesale. I bought the car for that price, plus their tax benefit. They were happy that the dealer wasn't going to make a killing on their trade, yet they still got the same 'real' value + tax value.

I was happy because I got great vehicles at a realistic price.

    Win win.

Of course they do. How do you think they fund all their freebee social services, probably one of the most liberal in the US?

And its a reason that those working in the N part of the state use NH as a bedroom community to live. No sales tax and such.

However, depending on the town you select in NH, the property taxes can be killer. We just sold a nice place in a very small town; taxes ran about the same as our mortgage payment. Just became intolerable. The town is going to tax itself into oblivion in a few years.
