I've had a tacoma for 10 years still running great but I've got the itch for a new one and want to get a moderate lift. I do zero offroading but need 4WD 5-10 times a year for weather. Thinking about the Sport. Dealership wants to charge $10900 (!) for essentially 2.5" lift and bigger tires. Talked to a shop in town that will do it for 5k. I'm new to all this but that still seems high. Should I expect to pay this much?

No. If you are doing it for looks only (spacer lift) that's incredibly high. Maybe $450 with parts and labor. If you were doing an actual suspension build I could see $3-4K. Maybe $10k with gears, lift, wheels, tires, etc etc
