Curious if anyone has thoughts to offer. I've got a '17 OR mt and I'm thinking about trading it on a '22 4Runner Trail Edition. My Tacoma has a 3" lift 33" tires, rock sliders, cap, cap rack, and some other things. I love my truck but have been thinking more and more about the 4Runner lately, and if I get one I want one before the re-design. TIA

I just came back from a 4Runner. Honestly depends on your needs.
I liked my 4Runner just missed having a truck.

Depends what you need. I had a 2015 4runner sr5 but moved to a 2021 OR MT. The MT helps a lot with the power issues in both these vehicles and you obviously have more cargo room with a truck. However, the 4runner did have a lot more passenger room if you have people in the back seats often. They're both great vehicles though. Can't really go wrong, just depends what you want.

I use my Truck for recreation mostly, and the dogs get the bed when we travel. Its not my daily and I store it in the winter because I live in the heart of the rust belt. The dogs would definitely appreciate the AC. The 4Runner would most likely be a daily driver tho.

Get a 4runner and keep the taco. I have both. Their both great vehicles. The 4Runners used for road trips and it’s my wife’s daily driver. Fits a car seat, stroller and large dogs. Comfortable for road trips. A lot more interior room than the Tacoma.

Nice Rigs! I keep telling my girl, I'll regret selling the Taco! You may be on to something.

i sold my 17 taco to get the 4runner. Ended up giving the 4runner to my wife and buying a 22 taco. If your budget allows strongly recommend keeping the taco and getting the runner.

my wife was against it at first and wanted to stay in her Mercedes’ or bmw but she’s hit the mod bug. She has kings, camburg UCAs. Full skids, sliders roof rack wnd CBI bumper. She’s looking at getting a rear bumper and ladder for our trips. Lol. Maybe you can convince your significant other.

4Runner definitely has more interior room, so if you really aren’t using the bed the 4Runner might be a better fit.

Have both. Aside from the 4runner being better put together/feeling higher quality:

    Tacoma:
    - Has a Bed
    - Feels faster at higher RPM
    - Better mileage
    - Higher towing capacity
    - available MT

    4Runner:
    - Roomier interior
    - More upright seating position
    - Torque at lower rpm
