So I'm trying to find a new cat back for my truck. I've just come to conclusion I hate the stock sound, to me it sounds like a 4cylinder civic. I want that deep growl but I'm not having much luck finding a good sound. If I need to do more than just install a cat back that's fine. I'm open to suggestions from the veterans and professionals

I installed the mbrp turn down
It definitly had a deep growl but I felt like it sounded like a wrx or something of the sort. Had it installed for literally 30 minutes and had to take it off.
I think the borla exhausts sounds pretty good tho

I’m using a Toyota TRD CAI & Cat-back, and am very happy with it. Sound isn’t bad and no cabin drone. Not cheap though.

We had the TRD Pro on our shop truck. It had a nice tone, but replaced it with the Borla. The Borla had a bit more volume and definitely a bit deeper tone. Highly recommend the Borla catback. The black tip was a nice touch too.

I installed a Borla catback on my 94 Hilux (22RE), and absolutely loved it! The install was easy, and the sound was exactly what I wanted: a little louder & deeper tone, but nothing that's going to PO your neighbors. It was perfect!

It’s a V6. Nothing is going to make it sound like a V8. My TRD catback has a nice mellow tone.

Hey guys, I kind of recently got a first gen Tacoma and I’ve been looking for mods that I can do. I’m thinking of starting by adding a new cat back because my piping right now is rusted and I’ve gotta cut off the bolts in order to take it off. I’m getting a little bit of help from some people I know but I want to know from people first hand. I’ve been looking at some threads on here from previous years about all these different cat back exhaust systems and I’m not sure what I want. Should i get a new cat back and cut in a muffler to that new exhaust or what? I’m not really good at all this stuff and I just need some help. I want something that is loud af but isn’t too expensive. Should I go for just a new cat back? Or should I keep the old piping and just cut in a new muffler? I’m also going to add a k&n intake at some time and I just want something that will be loud but also help the performance of the car. Thanks.

also been looking for a catback for the last month, looked into borla, mbrp, and flowmaster. MBRP, is to loud and has drone from what i can tell. flowmaster is a two muffler design. i think im gonna bite the bullet and get the TRD performance exhaust.
