I had the fumoto drain valve on my 2013. Should have taken it off before I traded it in for the 2016. It worked just fine. I didn't get the one with the nipple on it since the drain hole points straight down. Impossible to miss the pan...................... unless you did what I did once and forget to grab your pan. Note to self, drinking heavily before changing oil is probably not the best idea. Anyways, that's what cat litter is for.

I've also been using one on my 2012 Subaru STi for over 20,000 miles. You want to talk about a picky ass engine..... And it hasn't complained once about the 8 oz. or so of oil left behind.

I look at it this way IMHO. Fumoto has been around for quite sometime now and a reputable company not only for personal vehicles but also for industrial vehicles/equipment as well. Me personally would put my faith in them being around for as long as they have that they would take pride and the time to make sure they are producing the proper product for whatever vehicle it is being used for. I would think that they have taken in consideration of how long to make the threads so it allows as much oil to drain as possible. I am like the next person on this site that does research after research before I make a decision on a product and one of the factors I look at is how long has the company been around and if they have been around for sometime (especially if they specialize in a particular product) then 9/10 times their product should be good to go. Hope I haven't came off the wrong way here because I'm not trying to be of any disrespect to anyone here just trying to give some helpful advice and tactics that I personally use as I'm sure most of you do as well. And for the thread pattern question for compatibility at ones next oil change if you have the means to take the plug to parts store or have a friend with Tacoma that's doing their oil change with you, compare the two plugs to one another and wholla! You have your answer and comparison for what part number is right for the gen 3 Tacomas! Hope this has helped anyone and like I said I do research a lot myself and didn't even know about this drain plug but I'm glad I have came across it because I cannot tell you how many times I have made the little mistake of not opening the breather plug on my oil catch pan before draining and have oil splash everywhere haha. So I will be most definitely be purchasing one of these fumoto drain plugs for my next oil change!

Nice! Since I didn't know Fumoto made these for passenger vehicles (I thought they only made them for industrial equipment being a equipment operator) I'm definitely going to be putting one on my next oil change! It sucks though because I just did an oil change about 100 miles ago. Would like to know how you like it.

I've had one of these Fumoto valves on my old truck for 10 year with no regrets. I will be buying one for the new truck as well.
Fantastic quality and it will never fail in my opinion.

50% off Fumoto Accessories ending soon! I just ordered the items mentioned in my above post (#74) and received a 50% discount on the Hose Kit, an extra lock-out clip and rubber nipple covers which I'll cut to fit the SX's short nipple. I used discount code ACC50 during checkout. I looked around and found no one seemed to have a better deal than Fumoto's own website! Get'ya one!
