    Greetings all!

I have pretty much decided on purchasing a 2015 Tacoma. Before I do, I have a few questions that hopefully some of you can help me with.

    For starters, I am looking at the 2015 4x2 I4 Pre-runner SR5 Double Cab.

What are the differences between the pre-runner and the regular version?
I have read that it is lifted a bit more, and it may also be wider. If it is wider, is there more space on the inside as well?

Also, what does the SR5 package compared to a non-SR5?

How do they fit car seats? I have a rear-facing and a front facing I will need to fit in there. Is this doable? We rarely use my car to take the kids anywhere, but I need the option. My wife and are are pretty average sized adults (5'11, 180 lbs) will we be comfortable with the car seats in there with us?

I've been looking for the best deal around my area and have stumbled across the Truecar app.
Not sure if anyone out there has used it, but hopefully I'll be able to use that as a starting point ($21,675)

Thanks, hopefully in a couple more day's I'll be posting some pictures of the new car!

I can confirm that an infant rear facing, and a toddle rear facing seat fit just fine in the back of a double cab.

The rear facing does require you to move up the seat a little.

The cabs are the exact same size on all trim levels.

*Obligatory have you considered waiting for the 2016 which was just announced comment*

I fit both a front facing and rear facing car seat in mine. My kids ride in it just about every day and I'm comfortable. However, choose your car seats carefully. I'm a bit taller (6'2") and have the front facing seat behind me and there isn't much room for play. My old rear-facing was behind the passenger and adult men had a little trouble with legs hitting the glove box. I looked around at all the stores and found the shallowest car seat I could find and was able to move the seat back a few inches which made a big difference.

You will find most double cab ore runners have been ordered by the dealer with a V6 instead of I4.

If you are committed to the four banger, make sure you take a good long test drive before you sign on the dotted line to make sure you're satisfied with the performance.

    This!

Some guy on here bought a 4cyl Double Cab and was complaining about performance after he bought it. You need to definitely take it for a GOOD test drive. And then sit behind the wheel of the V6 for sure.

The 2.7/auto combo does exactly what it's supposed to do. It gets you from point A to point B in a safe and reliable manner. Not a hot rod by any means, and if you plan to pull a trailer or drive with a big load in the bed, you'll be able to tell its a 4 cyl. As for taking a long test drive, just be aware that it takes 5,000 miles or so to be fully broken in. There were several times over the first 6 months that I thought I might have made a mistake buying the 2.7. But once it broke in and everything loosened up a little, I'm quite pleased. Mine's an access cab, and as a result its a little lighter, and it's almost always just me in the truck.

Thanks for the replies. I'm currently driving a '05 2.5L I4 Nissan Altima manual 5-speed, and that gives me plenty of speed. I was assuming I wouldn't be able to feel the difference, but it sounds like I may be wrong.

I won't be doing any real heavy lifting or towing with it, its more for convenience.

I'll have to give it another thorough test drive I guess.

Light(er), sporty car with a fairly large '4 made with a good bit of aluminum.

I've heard all sorts of good things about the Yota '4, but fast isn't one of them.

I have the M6 with a V6, with a short shifter installed. It is the least "fun" manual I have ever driven (incl. 3spd F150, buddies 90's Isuzu, MX-6 V6, and my ex's 07 Fusion--which was actually almost as fun as the MX-6, just not at the top end).

edit: Were you looking at the auto or the 5spd on the Pre-R?

That thorough test drive...very good idea :)
