Yeah from what all I've read the AT paired with the 2.7 isn't a fan favorite. I'd only wa t the MT

Yeah I don't think some people in this thread have caught on to the fact that I currently own a 2019 toyota with the 4.0 in it. And to be extremely honest, its a complete DUD of an engine with zero power. But it's in my 4runner so maybe a pickup it's not too bad. Dunno.
Power to me is my diesel powered super duty. I don't even feel it towing anything until I get around the 16000 pound mark and maybe then I'll think its towing a little weight but, even at 16k lbs she just smiles and says give me some more weight.

For this vehicle I'm planning to buy, power is the LEAST of my concerns.

B3BD0D33-6A91-45B9-8A9A-6375880B64A1.jpg The Wifey’s 4runner... I know...I know... she HAD to have all the red and the stupid bull bar. And she made me weld up tow hooks for her for more bling.
She hates the 4runner after a few months of ownership. It’s not fast enough for her. She’s probably gonna get an f150 ecoboost soon.

The f550 I drove weighed a hair over 16000# it had a service body with a crane, generator welder and air compressor so it was heavy. I think it was pretty detuned compared to a f250 or 350 so it was on the slow side, but they had a f250 diesel I drove occasionally and it was a hot rod, was awesome to pull a trailer with it.

Oh man people don't realize just how fast these diesel trucks are. The power is unreal! I can smoke the tires in 4x4 but mine is built a little too. It's like a flippin rocket ship!

Wait, if this is the case, that's a helluva responsibility to put on a used 8-10+ year old used truck. Even with the stellar reliability Tacoma's are known for. JMO, but I'd think '20 & done would be more in line if that kind of profit is at stake...:notsure:

I guess I shouldn't say lost because it's just moved on to the next day but I can't afford to be down. I'm not in a position to finance at the moment for a few reasons. I've been closed since November due to winter season, so funds are tight until washing season kicks back in.

Oh ok, I figured there was more to it. Understandable now. You'll find the right Taco I'm sure. Good luck in your search!

I purchased a brand new 16' enclosed trailer two summers ago. It now needs to be replaced because of the harsh chemicals it's been exposed to. I'd hate to subject a brand new vehicle to that as well.

    $3-5k profit/ day x 5 days a week x 24weeks (may through oct)/ year= $360-600k year . OP can buy all of the vehiclez. I need to start doing what he’s doing.

I've had a couple of 25-06's, one of my favorites back in younger yrs. In later yrs. a little less recoil & noise makes the smaller cal. nicer & more comfortable, Today my heavy barrel .17 Mach IV Sako is the favorite. I like your orig. thoughts, Taco Reg. cab, 4X4, MT, good luck with the hunt.

If you live in a place where your business is down for the winter, the frame rust issue could be real for you, maybe consider expanding your search to some southern states. Could easily be worth the drive, and if you’re down for the winter you may be able to afford the time. Just a thought. If I were buying a used Tacoma again I’d definitely consider going south. Just had my frame replaced, but the window is closing on some of the 08-09 models for the extended warranty

Your profit margin is way off. Chemicals are cheap, profits are great, and most pay in cash lol

I shouldn't have thrown any numbers out there as it sounds like I'm gloating which wasn't the intent. Too late to take it back.

The topic isn't about my income it was about a used truck. I don't have any reason to buy a new truck that'll get abused by employees. A used one will work fine.

Frame rust is a serious issue where I live. I've seen frames rusted in half on trucks only a few years old.

If you're serious, PM me. If your market isn't already saturated, could be a very valuable move for you. My wife and I both quit our careers after the first year in business and I had spent 20 years in my corporate IT career when I quit. You've helped me, I'll help you.
