I'm thinking about going from my 2015 TRD off-road 4x4 with 5,000 miles to a 2014 trail 4Runner 4x4 with 22,000 miles. Basically an even trade. Thoughts? Pros? Cons? Thanks for the help. image.jpg image.jpg

i mean the 4 runner is nice... but damn its hard to put a dirbike in something without a bed.... no way id ever not have a truck.

Hell... even if i didnt have the motorcycles, simply being able to throw shit in the bed without worry of it being dirty (camp gear etc) is glorious.

    Dat dual vvti tho.

Look...I don't know if anyone here has told you this, so you may want to sit down.

The Tacoma is a panty dropper. Get your goddamn priorities straight please, sir.

I'm with the above parties. I love my Tacoma and would never think of going to another SUV. The truck is the best of both worlds especially if you throw a tonneau cover on it or a canopy. I have a canopy for my truck which makes it more useful then a SUV ANYTIME. Why do you want to get rid of the truck?

All that said, my wife is getting a 4Runner in the spring of 2016 so we will have the best of both worlds.

    I mean, you're in a Tacoma forum...

^^ What those guys said, though. For me, it's nothing but a truck from here on out. Why would you go to an SUV? Put a topper on your bed if you want dry storage - that's exactly what I did.

Keep your Taco man. I've had 4Runners - they're nice, but they're no Taco.

Go for it, I love my taco but it's going bye bye for a new trail 4Runner when I get money LOL, my access can just can't fit car seats in it and I need more room, I hardly use the bed anymore as it is... So no worries there... Plus those 4runners get better mpgs than my taco...

They're both awesome. It just depends on your specific needs.

Only you know if you need a pickup or an SUV.

You gotta listen to the little man inside your head.

No money, all went to truck...
I always have this mental debate. I have 2012 DSCB trd 4x4. I used to have a 97 4x4 4runner. I always think about maybe I should trade to a 4runner. I do like having the bed, throw dirty crap back there, load up way more shiz than the 4runner. But the 4runner would be easier with my kids. don't have to worry about rain when things are in the back. I do like the 4runner because MPGs are better with higher HP. And it has a much more refined feel than the tacoma.sigh.....

    Too close to call.
It looks like looks are the big concern so go with your heart and don't take anyone's opinion here. Our's doesn't mean shit as you have to live with it. You don't want to live with someone else choice.

It's all personal preference really. They are both awesome vehicles. My wife drives a 14 4Runner and she loves it and I drive an 06 taco. I still like my taco better for having the bed on it. But I will say the 4Runner is better on longer trips. Nicer ride and more comfortable to me. Also the 4Runner is better with having kids and dogs. Rear window rolling down is an awesome feature. Both vehicles are and can be bad ass though.

Wife has a 2015 4Runner...love it! If you don't straight up need a truck to haul dirty shit, you can do everything the same in the 4Runner in more comfort and with a ton more space. Truck looks pretty good though!

If I didn't buy the Tacoma, I would have bought a 4-runner. My buddy has one and it's awesome. I still love my Tacoma more though. :)

If a truck wasn't an absolute need, a 4Runner would be my daily driver. My wife has a 2010 with 75k miles and we could not be happier with a vehicle.

i say go with what you want, but i will ask, what kind of lift and tire setup do you have on your tacoma, that is pretty much the stance that im going for. still just trying to figure out how to get it, lol

That 4Runner is so badass. If you never use the bed of your truck Id say why not! You could put a badass stereo in that thing too....I really wish tacos had more room for subs.

Thanks for all the input guys. The only reason I haven't got the 4Runner yet honestly is I don't know what to expect to sell my truck for and I would have to own them both at the same time until my truck sells. Just not sure what a realistic number for mine to sell at is. We will see though. Just don't need to get stuck in a bad situation.
