So I've been working on my truck for the past three years to get my truck off road ready. Never been off road, other than small dirt trails to my parents in Baja.
So I really have an itch to see what my storm trooper can do. I'm considering Ocotillo Wells. I plan on going on my own, maybe my brother.
I have 285/70/17s bfg at ko with a full size spare, sliders, ifs and mid skid. 4x4 dcsb.
    Two questions...
    1. What trails do you recommend for a beginner?
    2. What else should I bring?
    All feedback is appreciated.

That is Thanksgiving weekend so it is one of the busiest weekends there. Doesn't mean you won't have a good time, but do plan on seeing about 30k people out there. Watch out for other vehicles, dirt bike, and side by sides. All the main trails can be done in 2wd and are easy. A lot can be done in a bone stock truck. Get a map at the ranger station. Think you can even find a pdf on here. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Top off your tank before getting out there. There is an arco off the 86. GPS is nice. If you take it slow and easy you will be fine. Subscribe to this thread if you ever looking for a group run. Last page is always the most updated.
