ok i was talking about senior project ideas a few months ago and came up with what im prolly gonna do, my engine has 220,00 miles and i am sensing it is going down hill, i had an oil leak from the old oil filter before, i changes oil tightened it up, and the truck is still leaking like a siv, its not burning the oil its just dripping and it is coming from over the front differential side, any one know what it could be (02 3.4L V6). i decided when the engine conks im putting a cummins 4bt engine in it, one of my bosses has put one in his brothers ford ranger and will be my mentor for it, my front diff is lookin mighty rank, i touched it with a pen and got up a huge slimey layer of oil, mud, and well basicly a gunk that is now formed on it aswell as the skid plate.

if the front diff will need to be replaced i will do a solid axel swap, put in a new front diff with 4.88 gears and arb locker and add on the 6 inch susp lift.

so it depends on what will conk first, good idea?

oh and i was thinkin of puttin in a mustang 5.0L V8 but id have to register the truck in a different county

fix the leak and sas it. these motors don't "conk". they just don't, some proper maintenance and it will outlive you. but an sas! that would be rad
