We just took an 04 Double cab V6, auto, prerunner in on trade, and I'm not sure if I should pick this up cheap, or just start out with a cleaner truck.

188k Mi, the CEL's on, hail damage, and it needs new plugs/distributor ... but, it did just have the timing belt and water pump done.

I forget how much we put into it, but I can probably get it OTD for less than $4.

Thinking about SAS and 4WD conversion, or maybe just throwing some long travel on the front and rear.

    What do y'all think?

You can't even get a good burger for $4. Even at 4k it still sounds like a decent project truck. I can't recall the last time Ive seen one drivable and be that cheap.

If you have deep pockets, ok not that deep, to ensure the project goes smoothly than sure why not. Pics would help.

Hail damage can be taken care of by PDR local folks so no need for a crazy body/paint job.
