    If you pick up an ROTC scholarship with the navy you are required to be an unrestricted line officer, this equates to being an aviator, surface warfare officer, nuclear warfare officer or SEAL/EOD. After two years or so in the navy you can do a lateral transfer to the business side of the navy it you want to and also if your community lets you go. IE it is harder for aviators to lat transfer than surface guys.
