Same here 1 FJ and 2 Tacomas. Love them both but they depend on your life style which one to own unless you are lucky and have both

Even though I own Tacoma, my mom has a 4runner and the fj and that are very identical. Personally I think they can off road better, and look like total beasts with 3 inch lift and 33's. My .02

Hmmm the dealer has a 2010 fj with 24k on it they are asking $25k. Only bad part is it's a manual

Something about the FJ's style-over-function design just irks me. Small access door, cramped rear seat, poor visibility, all the while being 300 lbs heavier than a Taco.

Fj and tacoma are similar . Just different shape and of coarse different rear suspension .

And different engines, and different electronics, and weatherproof floors (okay, it's an option on the '12+ Taco), and badass tire/wheel combos....

    And TRAIL TEAM FTMFW!

I seriously would like an olive drab TT FJ.

I'll answer it. I had a '07 FJ, was amazed at how cheap the interior was, traded it in on my Taco, and the only bad thing is that I wished I would have done it sooner.

And different frame. Up to 2010 the FJ and 4Runners were on the Prado 120 frame. 2010+ FJ and 4R are on the Prado 150 frame which is a fully boxed ladder frame. Also, 2010+ the 4.0 is the Dual VVT-i engine with higher HP and torque numbers.

I did like the ride on my FJ better than the my Tacoma when driving over rough terrain

Every time i have been in an FJ, the rear quarter visibility sucks....they need to make those windows larger.....also the door situation sucks double....a real PITA to get out of the back "seat"...........but they do look good!!

    1) I rarely have passengers in back. for a family itd be a hassle
    2) visibility - not a problem for me, just take it slow or use backup cam

    Too many to list
If you can afford it, keep the Tacoma and get the FJ.

5+ years ago, I traded in my 2003 TRD V6 SR5 Taco for a 2007 FJ 4WD. As much as I love the FJ, I missed having a truck. I missed the Taco enough to eventually get another one (2002 V6 SR5 4WD) 2 wks ago.

Having both now is great. I can't imagine life any other way now.

    A 2011 SR5 4WD Taco and a 1977 FJ40 is a nice combo... ;)
