Why does it sound like that was pulled straight out of a sales brochure?

I don't care if they put a 3 cylinder in this thing, it still weighs over two tons and has the aerodynamics of a brick. Mileage will never be good (but I don't even care).

exactly!!! i was told after 1200 or so miles it would drive like how i wanted . im at 1700 and it drives basically the same.... lots of bogging in 1000 rpm unless u step on it, but if u let off for a split second ... it goes right back to upshift or double upshift to 1000prm again and bogs....

In that case, you've got 10,300 more miles to go.

Maybe something is wrong with your truck? Have you had the tranny fluid level checked?

Mine is at about 500 miles, and I'm in love with it, and I have some seriously heavy tires.

ive been doing that ever since i got the truck. the best way for me to deal with it is just make sure i have the music on so i cant hear the motor bogging at least. but its has a floating feeling as well when its driving at 1000rpm which makes driving feel weird... going around corners at 1000rpm feels bad when in compared if it was driving at 1500-2000 rpm or higher

thats intersting .... if i have a light passenger driving with me or a very small load it drives at its the worst. i picked up my heavier friend at the airport and a bunch of heavy stuff with him and the auto seemed to ride better with the extra weight

That is odd. Whenever I put enough load on my engine to make it bog, it immediately makes a quick downshift and purrs like a kitten.

But mine performed just as well with stock tires, so I have no idea what's going on with yours.....

Limited wheels, extra rope hooks in bed.
I though about trading too but too much of a loss...If I sold it privately then I'd be liable for all the taxes on a new $33,000 truck as compared to only the taxes on the difference of the trade value of the two trucks....$600 verses $2300 in taxes.

Also I'm now holding out for the supposed transmission update I've read about on here...

Not to mention the 21-23 mpg I get isn't bad.

lol I will believe there is a trans update when I see it. Toyota hasn't even admitted the fluid issue.

Wait til you get that bad knee, an hour of stop and go traffic can become unbearable and with what I assume the OP lives in Hawaii (Oahu), that's some of the most stagnant traffic in the US.

Never had a problem with my knees until I got to be over 45, then it became an issue for long hauls in a manual.

i dont mind the auto 100%. its just some routes i drive... (long flats with speed limit at at 35-40) is when its at its worst. if im going up stee p hills or really stepping on the gas hard it drives WAY better. i have found the s-4 and s-5 make it a bit more managable sometimes. i notice a big deifferance in even the driving between s-4 and s-5

Yep, start looking into Glucosamine to lube them up. I'm 51, still ride my mountain bike about 70 miles a week and SUP now that the weather is warmer. It's not that I'm not fit, just getting older and the joints don't respond like they used too.

Automatics for the daily drivers and the standard stays with the weekend toy car.
