    Working on it.
I have driven manuals all of my driving life. My Tacoma is my first auto. It is taking some getting use to. I still push on the foot rest looking for the clutch. The extra interaction with the vehicle really does add to the driving experience. If you can absorb the financial hit and it is what you want I say go for it.

I have a fun car with a 5 speed that I enjoy when I'm in the mood. It's a hell of a lot more fun to drive than a manual taco.

Besides, if you did what I still do everyday you'd want to keep your knees working as long as possible.

And no offense but you sound like a punk.

    none yet/none planned! It's perfect!
I am 51 and just got a manual and have two knees with blown out ACLs but I feel more connected to a manual and I drive 40 miles every day for work. 70% highway and 30% city. Wouldn't change a thing.

More power to you but I don't need two manuals, I need a truck with a longbed instead.

For most of my 20s I drove in LA traffic which was about 10 years... 8 of those with a 5 speed manual v6 (2003 TRD Off road access cab). Never again.

Yep, it gets old after awhile and even worse as you get older.

Love my manual sportscar but I don't need to row the gears in everything I own every day.

I'm young still (relatively speaking) and until my left leg doesn't work anymore you will pry the manual trans shifter out of my cold dead hands. That or there will be no more manual transmissions available in a new vehicle.

I completely understand the medical/comfort issue and the desire to not have to push a clutch. I thoroughly enjoy rowing my own gears and having absolute control, even if Toyota wants to filter the input from my right foot. I don't care that the Taco isn't a sports car. The 6MT in the 3rd gen is a nice upgrade from the 2nd gen although I am still looking for a short throw kit. Manual transmission make me happy and auto transmissions infuriate me.

To each their own, but if you are truly unhappy with the auto, by all means trade it in and get what you want. You know won't be happy until you do.

I'm actually pretty badass but not a douchebag. And there is no why the clutch in this Tacoma can provoke any injuries unless you are already injured
if that's how you feel then fine, but I still think you are exaggerating this a little bit. Lots of career drivers at my Center complained when they were taken out of there 10 and 13 speed Mack and International and put in new Kenworth CNG autos that shift terribly like the new Tacomas.

The Manual in the 3rd Gen is about the easiest to drive over any other manual l have ever owned.

It's not a question of whether it's easy or not, I don't need three pedals in every car I own. If the longbed came with 3 pedals I might have considered it but as it didn't the choice was easy.

If you spend 3-5 days a week moving 1.5 miles in stop and go traffic for 30 minutes a manual transmission is a pain in the ass. You don't feel connected to the truck at that point you feel like your knee, foot and ankle is about to wear out over time.

I don't care what you guys decide to drive, you have your own preferences but if someone elects to go from a manual to an auto for whatever reason, they're certainly not a fucking quitter.

Never called you a Quitter or questioned your choice, simply stated it is an easy manual to drive.
