LOVE your truck! White is my favorite color and reg cabs are gorgeous.

That makes no sense whatsoever. The point of a bench I am assuming is so you can fit a small person in there on rare occasions. If you have a stick, you cant possibly fit anyone there. I would think autos will have the bench and sticks will have buckets but it seems inverted.

Don't the 5 lug trucks have benches and column shift? Why couldn't they do that in a 4x4?

I really like the regular cabs, but I needed the extra room. I say go for it.

Thanks for the compliments guys, there are a lOT of nicer reg cabs than mine on here. :)

Yeah, it makes no sense whatsoever that Toyota can't offer more options on the reg cab Taco. Since I work for Toyota, TMS sent me a very detailed survey about my truck, and I made it crystal clear that MANY people were disappointed that they seem to have lost interest in the regular cab Taco. I reminded them of their roots, that regular cab trucks is where it all started for them.

I bet you could swap a bench into one, but you'd of course lose the console. But maybe the small one from the MT would fit.

To be honest with you, I think the access cab would have better resale value but it's your truck and your decision. I have the access cab and personally like it better than the reg cab.

You might be able to find someone to trade you evenly so you don't have to go to the dealer. Dealers in my area don't want to give you anymore than trade value.

As far as the transmission, I like the 5 spd better than the 6 spd and prefer the manual but probably will go with an automatic next time since they are in more demand in my area.

Toyota looks at numbers, simple as that. Ratio is around 10/35/55% for reg./access/double.

Does the regular cab have a better "door slam quality" than the access cab, since the door closes on a solid B-pillar instead of on another door?

Yeah, the reg cab shuts really nice, although it's easy to not close it hard enough because of the air pressure. Honestly, that was one of my main beefs with the access cab, just the sound & feel of the door closing didn't sit well with me.

And you're right about Toyota looking at the numbers.... which is why the reg cab doesn't get much attention from Toyota.

i wish it got more attention and they offered more ad-ons to it, stock. i have a vision of have a reg cab and just making it look like the ultimate off roader... if i didnt have to have the extra space, being in the military and all, i would def buy the reg cab. it just looks great!!!!

pyrite, 2.7l, 4wd, 5 speed, buckets/console was my vision but I'm giving up on it and just lovin the one I have............not worth the money involved and time to swap all my stuff over just to trade cab space for 4wd. I'll wait it out for the next gen.

I really like the reg cabs. If I could find a reg cab prerunner I'd probably be in trouble.

i think the reg cabs are the meanest looking when lifted, plus the short wheel base and high ground clearance make it look sick. its only me and my gf so i dont need all kinds of room or a v6, i still get like 22-25mpgs with my lift and stuff all done...

even my access cab drives me crazy - nothing but dc's in my future. can't stand having almost no space to carry anything. and a manual? never - outgrew those in college... (if it was a sports car, that would be different!)
