TW tends to not like the Pro(Bro) because you can build a better rock-bashing overlander for less. But, I totally went with the Pro.

I didn't want to dick with it, and I didn't want to install another lift kit and all the hassle that comes with it. The Pro is not at all a super-mega offroad desert racer, but it's offroad enough for my Mountain Biking needs. Plus it came with all the things I'd want to do. Cat-Back, the pretty grill, the pretty bash plat, the skewp (I grew up watching Smokey and the Bandit - don't judge me, Skewps are kool AF). The Pro was "done" for lack of a better word.

Trade in is usually a loss, I wouldn't switch for a pro, just buy some fox suspension and call it a day.

Miles don't matter in my eyes, plus you know what your truck has seen.

I can’t remember but either the 16’s or 17’s was the year of the rusting frames recall? I would look into that or at least really check the Pro out underneath.

Thanks for the replies guys! I had my buddy look it over, he's got years of Taco experience. He also knows me and my car habits really well. We did check for rust and signs of offroading. It's definitely been on a trail but not much. Super light indicators. It looks really clean and he helped me figure out what fair prices for the Pro would be and for my OR. Yes, I will be getting money back on the OR. We looked over what I've put into it in the 2 years I've owned it and figured out what a fair deal would look like. I'll talk to the dealer with these numbers and see if it ends up making sense. If not, no harm. Thanks again for the help!

Are you saying the dealer is giving you the older Pro and cash for your truck?
If so, something sounds fishy, they're in to make money, not pay out.

The obvious question is why would a dealer offer you a good deal on the pro, and a good price for you OR.

    I guess I don't get that.

FWIW 2017 is probably the best year of 3rd gens. If you want the "mods" without having to do them yourself, I'd probably do it. Pretty sure white & cement were the pro colors that year so I'm assuming you're not downgrading on color?

TSB's are only good for the factory warranty, if it is past the 3 yr/36k miles, and you didn't get the TSB done, your loss...as far as i have been told..

I thought so too, but for example, here's the first page of one I think Op needs.

This makes zero sense to me.

A dealer can't sell a Pro, so they offer a "deal" on it, so they can trade for a TRD OR that they will pay a premium for.

OP sounds too good to be true. Both OR and Pro are selling at a premium right now. I could see if they wanted your OR and give you a deal on something less desirable.

Pros are so hot right now they sell themselves. I have a hard time believing any dealer would give you the Pro + $$$. How much is the Pro and what are they giving you for the OR would be my question.

The frames haven't changed much since 2005. The Gen 3 is still basically a Gen 2 frame.
