While funny, I have never found that to be the case. Our cats are very affectionate. Usually at 3 am. Seriously though, our cats are independent to a point. I think when you have a kitten you have to spend a LOT of time with them for the first year. Thats when they learn to socialize. Whatever behavior they learn as a kitten will determine the adult cat.

RIP to my 08 Prerunner DC
Get a male and get it fixed. We have had 2 for pest control. They were great pets they went in and out on their own schedule. Meaning no litter boxes thank goodness.

It sounds like you're looking for a cat like mine. We give him an auto feeder and he's good to go. We just leave a window open for him and he comes and goes as he pleases. I've had and for about 3 and a half years. 1 of my family members gave it to my son for his birthday.

I would say get one but your schedule seems to hectic. Kittens need more attention than grown cats. Just make sure your house or apartment is safe. I lost my kitten a while back cause the pull string on the blinds were looped and he basically got caught and hung himself… not something you want to see.

Cats are independent, but not as much as some tend to believe. They do get lonely. A kitten will especially need some attention. If you must have it, please consider adopting an adult cat too. Two take very little more care than one and when you're not there, they have each other.

Spend time getting to know the cat our cat picked us as her companions and she was a great freind( we had to put her down yesterday after13 great years).the 1 thing to remember is that pets do require responsability, have the cat spayed or nutered and do keep up with all the vet. visits and you will have a long relationship .
    good luck with your decision.

i have 600 saved up for mod money that im considering turning into cat money ( I over budget each month and throw the extra in savings for toys) Ive tended my dads cats before, he has 4 2 mainecoons and 2 strays and a dog and 3 kids. and i definately would assure that they got the care that my cat if i got one would need. After talking with my dad and a few friends i decided i will get one if my land lord doesnt mind. but still before im completely dead set ill still think about all the pros and cons mentions until he reaches adoption age

^ my kitty Diesel, so-named because he purrs constantly and sounds like a little engine. Most affectionate animal ever, keeps me company while I work on the trucks, comes when I call for him, sleeps on my chest at night, etc.

Make sure you spend time with the pet early on and you'll form a bond. They're family.
