Thinking of a different grill

Add a vote for Retro. I like the unique factor. Nice to see something different

 

Okay, first step done.

I cut out the cross members (girl with power tools wahaha) and sanded down the extra bits with a dremel. Now for the rest of the sanding, but since it's getting dark and I have a bad shoulder I might wait till morning for the rest.

I am going about it like a Satoshi so far until I figure out how to make the bars in the retro grill. Any ideas?

I like the black better. I don't know about the color match.

 

Can't decide if i like the white or black better, but that grill looks badass!!! Especially with those lights, it makes it look super mean.

 

hhhmmm.....one thing with the black is it matches my headlights. The surrounding color will be the last part

Get a clear bra. It will protect it from rock chips.

 

i like it.. Maybe someone could do a photoshop with a allpro or arb bumper. I would like to see what that looks like. maybe with a black bumper the color match would look better but dont know

 

I like this except inside = black.
Also different headlights too? Is that your plan for a full retro front? Not sure about the current headlights with the retro grill unless the plan is eventually it looking like the top pic you posted. That is awesome & brings back some memories for me since I owned one.

Simon's Mom, the inside is black, but somehow it looks gray in the photoshop (maybe camera flash). At first the truck had no plans whatsoever, except to eventually do some racing, but it seems like I've unintentionally been going for a retro look haha. The headlights might stay or they might go, not sure yet.

 

I will if I go that route... I like the lights on top of yours. What kind are they? Do you have a writeup on them?

I'm trying to retro out my truck too! and I've been obsesing over the SEMA toyota for quite some time now. The only reason I haven't done some of the stuff is cuz $$$$$$$$$$$

 

Any ideas on how to make the vertical and horizontal bars?
