So I have a Blue 2011 Tacoma 4X4, the only things that are chrome is the grill and rear bumper and rear emblems. I am thinking of painting the chrome grill with black plastidip.

    What are your guys thoughts?

If you have a blacked-out grill can you post a pic?

To me, too much chrome looks like a pimp ride, not classy. I like that contrast of black with another color.

Totally agree with the pimp thought. Why not just get a Colormatched Grille from like Camelback Toyota? Probably be around $200.00 or so. I think just the black surround on the front will look out of place as well.

3rd Gen OR suspension, wheels and tires all 4 corners.
Agreed. Too many folks think different is better, but it’ll hurt your resale value in the end.
Spend the $ on a date night or boys night, and enjoy your great truck the way it is.

To begin with, I don't give a damn about that factory resale value. Mine was plasti-dipped when I bought it. It doesn't last forever obviously and was peeling so I soaked it in wd40 and pressure washed it right off. The thicker you put it on the easier it peels off should you ever decide to. I used the wd40 method because the guy before me probably went a can too thin and it wasn't peeling, but it looked brand spanking new afterwards.

So I took my brand spanking new grille and put some Napa bedliner spray on it. I didn't like how 'matte' it was, almost the same matte plasti-dip color that I hated. So I sprayed over it with actual black spray paint. I forget the brand, but I believe it was somewhere between matte and glossy like a semi-gloss or satin. I think it came out pretty dang good and it's held up fine for years from scrubbing dead bugs off it

Both the grille and the skid plate are black spray paint and look just as good as the bumper which was professionally bed lined by Pelfreybilt. Although it is permanent.

My vote goes to blacking it out. I personally don't like chrome, so anything to get rid if it would look better IMHO. I think it would look best color matched, but a couple cans of plastic dip versus a new grill isn't exactly in the same price range.
