Tempted to sell it but I know I’ll never be able to get one again. It’s 1 of ~150ish ever made and only like 40ish came over to the states.

I use my truck as a truck a ton. I don’t want to hook up a trailer when I go pick up a motor or a trans or go ride or run to Home Depot or whatever.

You could never really get to me, you can keep trying. I saw that sentence when you first posted your thread. I just side stepped it. I tried to give you some advice. You weren't receptive of it . Thats fine. When you ask questions on the internet, you will get a full spectrum of answers from people. It is their perspective on what you asked. Some of it , may even be from some other peoples life experience. So take what works for you, and keep going. Like I said earlier good luck becoming a father.

You’re right. I’ve decided I no longer need a truck and instead will be selling it to buy a family car per your instructions. I should have listened earlier. I will have no time to do any projects that require needing a truck anymore.

Should I sell the palisade too, in order to get the family car?

My issue wasn’t people with differing opinions. My issue was people telling me that I don’t need a truck or acting like they know my financial situation and needs more than I do.

I fully expected people to push back on getting a 3rd gen versus the 4th gen or what trim is best, etc. I was surprised (even though I probably shouldn’t have been) to read people telling me that I don’t need a truck and that I really need to save my money but also buy a different family vehicle or buy another SUV.

I fully understand you’re the “last word” type of guy and will continue to troll/comment with amazingly witty comments like “part out” and “Zzzzzz” and whatnot. But I’m kinda over responding to you so have a nice day dude.

I was in the same situation as you OP. Bought a fixer upper, new kid and needed a truck. Had a 2500 duramax that I loved but was not practical for the new life I was starting. Always wanted a Tacoma so I went and ordered one. Knew I needed a long bed for hardware runs and because short beds can’t even fit a fishing pole in the back.;) Thought the sports look goofy with the long bed so I went with the OR. Didn’t care about the hood scoop since it’s non functional or the sunroof, had one before and over the years it started to leak. Never used it anyways... Did some mods, added Clazzio’s, LED’s and a few other must haves. Got tuned as soon as I could because it couldn’t get out if it’s own way. Love the truck I have now. For the kiddo I got the Diono 3RX car seat. It’s spendy but it’s slim and very well built. It takes up very little space Link:https://store.diono.com/radian-3rx/
My kid is 5 now and she fits back there fine. I feel her little feet every now and then but whatever. We make it work. Of course it will never be a full size and every time I get in one I’m amazed at the room but not envious of the cost... You’ll find something that fits your needs. I plan on keeping mine for a long time.

Let’s balance out the negativity. You need a truck. How about an F-350 dually diesel? Or an F-150 Raptor?

This is the internet. Buy what suits your needs, not what others tell you to buy.

Hey OP, you’ve got a lot of advice here. I just wanted to offer thoughts on car seats and Tacomas.

I have four children under the age of 8, including two-year-twins. My wife has an Expedition she uses daily that can fit all the kids and without a doubt it’s the superior family hauler. But I can get 3/4 kids in my ‘22 Tacoma without too much trouble. For rear facing car seats, the middle seat works best. When you move on to front facing seats, spend the extra money on a brand like Clek. They take up much less room than most of the other options out there. Whatever you buy, make sure you can attach and tighten the rear anchor easily when you fold down the second row seats.

The issue is I have an access cab. I don’t have a middle seat. That’s part of the reason I was thinking four door would work out.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I was giving car seat advice that would apply if you opted for the DC.

We bought the uppa baby vista v2 or whatever it’s called for the wife’s Palisade but I def need to start looking for something that will fit in my truck for the time being. I’ll check out Clek. I actually don’t know much about seats yet…my wife was doing the research in that department lol

Haha yea they’re cool. They’ve gotten pretty popular lately. I think I paid around $7k for that one years ago but now they’re going for $25-30k+. I’ll probably throw it on bring a trailer when/if I sell it.

Don't feed the trolls man and make good use of the ignore function.

Also, I know you are looking for a '23, but you should keep your eye out for a deal (lol) on a used one if you are into that sort of thing. I have a '17 and have had some issues, but nothing recent and since the 3rd gen is effectively the same through out it's lifecycle, a babied '20 or even earlier one might save you some money.

Yea, I haven’t been on forums in so long that I had kinda forgotten about trolls.

I’d entertain the idea of a used one with lower miles. I plan on keeping it 250k+ miles though so I kinda wanted to know the maintenance history and what the truck has been through but I guess it doesn’t matter too much.
