    Is this a serious post?

    Are you an engineer? Are you skilled in vehicle design?

    Simple answer; don’t mess with the frame on your new truck.

    When you're done cutting the frame, test it by ghost riding it off a cliff. Let us know results.

    Get a frame from Toyota or junk yard and replace it with better one instead of cutting the part of frame off.

    SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
    Rear frame chop = the third greatest 3rd gen reveal of all time!

    Nothing says “imma protect my frame!” Like hanging it in the garage rafters. Best idea yet!

    Years ago I was driving back int my city on a freeway "under construction". Plenty of signs telling people speed limit through congestion ... most obvious sign being the line of not-moving cars.

    Still ...

    Some joker in a Civic or Corolla or similar (I was not rubber-necking after, just glimpsed the vehicle type) decided to gun it when the traffic moved all of 50 ft at maybe 25 MPH... the noise caught my attention. When traffic stopped again I got an ever-so-slightly-longer look ... the engine was at 45 degrees and diving under the cabin. But the cabin seemed intact. Totaled, obviously.

    Intentionally design crumple zones almost certainly saved the lives of those passengers. But I guess some people prefer to have family members travel into town for the hospital/funeral instead of marveling at the way the vehicle collapsed into a bubble around the surviving passengers.

    Preemptive strike.

    You know I'm worried about hail damage. I think I'll go take a hammer to my truck now to prevent the hail from doing any noticeable damage. Thanks!

    I've heard that airbag deployment cal also lead to the insurance totaling a vehicle. Might want to disable or remove those also.

    I spilled my beer reading this, and almost ran off the road. What is going on here?

    Do not forget the pressure-activated directional claymore mines just in front of that cut to get vengeance on the bad person who hits you.

    @TexasWhiteIce

    This will be the results of cutting that frame and getting hit in the rear. More than likely a car is going to go under you from behind...after that trailer tears off that hitch.

    By the way CHEVY stated this happened because they welded the roll bar to the frame just ahead of the bend. Thus weakening (making softer steel with the heat from the weld ) the frame rails.
