Thinking of debadge today

I never had any but here is how some have removed theirs. Warm it up and just peel up a corner then slowly pull it off. Thats is, to get a corner up you could use a razor but be very careful. To warm it you could use a blow dryer.

 

Hair dryer to heat them up, find edge and peel slowly.
Paitence is key or you will have more adhesive left than desired.
WD-40 or Goo Gone works on residue then wash/wax normally.

 

Like the license plate.

Thanks. I'm a huge MB20 fan.

 

I used a plastic gift card to lift the emblems and then used plastic weedwacker line to pull through. I also sprayed quick detailer on while doing it to keep it lubed so no scratching. I then cleaned the area with WD40 to remove all glue. Then washed and Zaino and it was done. Only took me 20 min to remove. And another hour to wash and Zaino.

 

I cant decide whether to paint em black and put all of em back on, just put the "toyota tacoma" back on the left side of tailgate, or just leave it completely debadged... such a delima haha

 

Here's mine debadged with a sockmonkey decal on the tailgate. If you look close you can see my dog Charley in the garage. I didn't notice it until now

 

how come if use a hairdryer to debadge a tacoma how come it wont just fall off on really hot days.

 

it softens the tape... it doesn't just fall off from using the hairdrier. it just helps

 

Nice truck... for a minute appears that my truck was on a different home and city and state... it does look nice but I'm thinking of paint in black the chrome emblems and change the TRD sticker to one of the sockmonkey (already in-transit).

Just did mine!! So much cleaner!

 

I like it better with the badges on. Especially black badges.

 

For me a rubber spatula worked better than fishing line. The Goo Gone, then wash and polish and wax.

 

No badges & paint front emblem black - leave the non belivers wondering what kind of cool truck you have.........

 

what did u place the emblem on while u painted it without the tape sticking ??

 

i agree! except i'm planning on a mesh grille with no emblem...
