Thinking of selling my 2017 2.7L manual for 60 or 80 series Landcruiser. Anyone have a LC here?

    Exactly
I use my 60 for beach go too..cavernous inside ,dogs ,gear, people, racks up top for boards, bikes etc
Not mint so works great sand mud and fun .
Down side , gas mileage sucks @ $7 but usually very short trips, maintenance and wrenching always ! Must keep the motor clean for Ca smog laws
    Good luck

Purchased a 1995 HDJ81 with 123,000 KM last year as a hobby vehicle. Factory turbodiesel 1HD-FT with lots of goodies we never had in the US (diesel engine aside), like a rear tire carrier.

I really love this thing and have been building it out for remote exploring. That said, and as mentioned before, these older vehicles take a lot of time and effort to properly maintain and modify. Even though it's a solid platform, rubber and other components have a shelf life. Go into such a purchase with both eyes wide open.

However, being mostly mechanical in design, most everything can be fixed or replaced, either with OEM or aftermarket. By the standards of today's tech in vehicles, the 60 and 80 series probably have more in common with wheelbarrows.

love the body of the 80 series, heck I love the body of 1st Gen tacomas as well. Keep both your 3rd Gen and pick up a LC for fun if you can swing it.

I have a friend who picked one up last year and he loves it. I do casually wheeling with him until it is ready for harder trails.

It’s his only car and his 10mpg hurts him, but it is what it is.

    pics taken last Sunday.
