Lots of 1st Gens got crushed after Toyota bought them back from frame rust too, I can remember seeing rows of them lined up at the Dealer, was actually kind of sad to see. It has to be difficult to locate a clean one now, would take plenty of searching for sure.

You already spent the money to buy the truck. IF you sold it for more than what you've paid for, then you'd have profit. If you're thinking of investing that money elsewhere, then that's a different story.

Keep the new one but find you an older one if you can. I have a 2003 prerunner which I passed to my son when I bought my 2016 Tacoma with the understanding he could not get rid of it. He kept it for a year when he bought his 2017 Tacoma so I took back the 03. I get many great offers for it but its my lil workhouse. Just added 4 new tires, complete new suspension and had it detailed inside and out. Not a spot of rust but clear coat is fading away on the hood and the top. If i keep it, might just have it repainted. I love my old as well as my new.

Wow that's a super clean single cab. Hope the inside looks just a good as the outside!

Inside in great shape and if it wasn’t dark out, I’d add photos. Under hood is just as clean.
