I already had one (94 Silverado 2WD brand new to 210K at time of death). I like my Tacoma much better.

I knew I remembered you... Last time I was truely trolling these boards I thought you were driving a manual access cab.

I drove my truck out for a canoue trip this weekend, and the TomTom took me down in deep Amish country. Single track gravel roads with grass growing in the middle of them. I had to cross about 6 creeks.

My access cab did ok, but I got tired of listening to it creek and scrape rocks.

I bought the I4 Access cab to keep the cost down, and thinking I would save gas... turns out I would have been have been better off with a V6 prerunner for sure... and might as well have done the 4x4 DC. Oh well there is always 2010.

LOL - sorry bout that. I guess I should put my 07' in my signature or something. I have been getting that quite a bit from members that remember me from back in the day...

Yep. I had an 07' Access Cab PreRunner 2.7L manual in Impulse Red Pearl. I loved that truck, but it quickly proved to me that I need more than that. I really love my 08' Double Cab PreRunner. It is probably the best vehicle I have ever owned.

Made my mind up on what I want.

05+ Double cab 4x4 TRD Off Road in Speedway blue with less than 45K miles. I'll keep this thread updated on how my search goes. I'm in no rush so it may be months until I find what I want, but I'd rather wait and find exactly what I want than make another mistake and compromise on something.

Nice find, but to much money. I'm looking for something under $20K (asking price).

I've found an '08 that fits the bill exactly, but its a Prerunner. It also has a 3" lift on it already.

I know my next vehicle is going to be a DC 4x4 Tacoma. Don't get me wrong, I love my 2.7 Access Cab, but I wouldn't mind a little more power and the extra space. Right now, as a college student with no kids or anything like that or nothing to tow, my truck suits my needs perfectly. Plus with a V6 I wouldn't mind being able to open up exhaust upgrades. With a 2.7 it would just seem like a little four banger attempting to mimic that of something bigger, but end up tucking tail in shame. I won't be upgrading for a long while anyways, possible withing the next 5 to 7 years.

I say go for the doublecab. It is really nice to have the space to haul 4/5 people comfortably and still have the benefits of a truck.

A jeep? If you're going to lower your standards then you might as well shop for a kia. ;)

if you got the money, go for the tacoma, it is a more practical car. if you want a jeep you can find plenty more for cheaper and have a Taco for day to day and some 4x4 action

I say do it, you have need for the DC and can afford it so pick up that 06 and call it a day done good!

Although, it does depend on how much you really love the truck you drive...
