Don't do it if you are 6' 6" tall and 350 pounds.

If you're smaller than that, then the Tacoma is probably a better option for you.

None but make sure you test drive it thoroughly before buying to ensure you like it.

Oh and the 2020’s will be out soon so you are in a good position if you wait to see if you want one or want a better deal on the ‘19’s.

This is without a doubt THE BEST advice anyone could give on this forum
Edit: Maybe rent one for a week or two if possible....some dealers have a rent it before you buy it type of deal.

I went from Tundra to a Taco, the only thing I really miss is the roominess and comfort of the Tundra. I sure as hell don’t miss the 12mpg...

Why do you want to switch. Going from a full size big motor to the mid size v6 can be a shock to some. In my opinion, the taco is way better than the tundra. The taco suits my purpose though.

Depends on if you prefer comfort of a full size, or better MPG of a mid-size. Never been in a tundra, but our F-150 is the go to for road trip comfort. But I do get about 21-22 MPGs as a daily driver, 20 minutes each way for work.

Not unless you're towing a lot, or going to miss the big V8 torque monster.
I love the Tacoma, has good off-road capabilities, truck bed, decent mpg, and a small footprint. The buzzy V6 doesn't bother me, but I actually test drove it, and understood fully what I was buying. If you read around here, you'll see post after post of people bitching about lack of torque and wandering transmission.
    Can't go wrong with either!

    Extended test drive.

Do you tow anything with the Tundra?

Thoughts for getting into a Tacoma . Better milage , day to day live ability. Easier to drive everywhere. In my mind more off-road capable. I’ve sat in one in the dealership and have no issues with the roominess of the seat. As much I here complaining about the tacos seat. My Tundra kills my back on any thing longer than about an hour .

Made the switch from the F-150 to the Tacoma within the last six mths. Love not having to three point turn in the giant eagle parking lots, but i do miss the roomy back seat space. Overall, happy with the choice. Having fun with the mods...but definitely can be a rabbit hole...:spending:Hoping the longevity of the toyota will make up for it in the long run.

I tow a 16 ft Gheenoe flats boat . A go kart could tow it. No big payload hauling here.

    Like, so many.
Larger families would appreciate the interior size of the Tundra. If you'll be towing, the Tundra is much better for that. Tacos are better offroad without question, especially if you get an OR or Pro. A Tundra wouldn't even fit in my garage.

Sounds like a Tacoma might be right for you then.
Just one last step, do you like the engine/transmission?
I loved my Sequoia, but what a giant pig it was, if it wasn't cruising on the highway, I wasn't happy. That's also why you don't hear me complaining about the Tacoma mpg.
