I traded a 16 tundra for a 19 Tacoma. Kind of regret it sometimes. Tacoma is ok, but a nice big powerful Tundra is a sweet ride. I get better gas mileage which was the driver for my switch.

Ask 3 taco owners what the gas mileage is like and you will get 8 different answers. I have an access cab V6 2wd and I average 27-30 mpg on my work commutes. Around town its much lower but my overall average is probably around 24-25 mpg.

True, I get 19-20plus back roads, highway 17ish, depending. But I still enjoy driving it.

    A few.
As long as you have a clean bed that's a nice feature. If not the dirt that's in the bed is coming in the cab.

I did 2 year lease to make sure I love it, but I know if I trade it I'm going right back into another Toyota so lease did not bother me..

    I average 19-20 in my 19 TRD Off-Road with 5,500 miles on Odom. I'm 70% city / 30% hwy, 40 mile round trip to/from work.
My only regret not waiting on the 2020 is the power seat that's coming with it. Great truck though, just wanted freedom to trade in a couple years.

If you dont need a bed get a 4runner, much better vehicle than the new tacomas. I get 18-19 mpg in my 4runner Pro

I believe the trd off road is a package that you can add to a sr5 trim on the tundra..

I’ve seen tundra limited with the trd off road package, so it has limited badge and trd off road decal.

    this and that...
having both the 5.7 and the 3.5 (both being 2019), youre definately gonna miss the silkyness of the engine when you get up and go or the effortless passing power when going up hill. youre not gonna miss the lower mpgs; to be fair the taco doesnt make much more mpg that the tundra. a manual 3.5 is more fun to drive though without a question, ill say that. after driving the sequoia for a few days, ill always smile when i jump in the taco to go run errands. i know magnuson has a sc option for the 5.7 platform, but the 3.5 is due to have fi options very very shortly, so thats a wash.

Every package above the SR5 also has the SR5 add ons in it. TRD’s include the SR5 package. Tacoma’s had SR5 on all over that till a couple years ago when they stopped putting the emblem on there. They still have the package in there though.

My 2019 Tacoma gets 19 MPG.

I think the ‘19 designation is for the fuel economy not the year.
