So a deal has come across my plate to trade my 2017 Tacoma for a 2017 F-250. It is the 6.2L Gas, crew cab 4x4 XL with some added amenities.

    Link to said truck

I know I'm going to eat some on my Tacoma (not my first rodeo) but this is A LOT more truck and I can keep my current payment within $20 a month, no added years. Obviously fuel mileage isn't as good and insurance will be higher. Plus it will not fit into my current garage. Thoughts?

Um, aside from many other comments that could be made, that is not a apples to apples comparison. They are two totally different trucks.

I mean, if you need an F250, then there's no Tacoma out there that can compare.

If you're okay taking the loss and its what you want then go for it.
I would suggest pricing out insurance.
I went from a Tacoma to a Tundra and my insurance jumped up a lot.

    Agreed,

For me it wasnt how much truck I wanted, it was how much truck I needed. Plus the F150 didn't fit in my garage, which is what I wanted. My two biggest misses were a lack of initial throttle response and a lack of air conditioned seats. I figured that wasn't the worst thing in the world and went tacoma.

Oh I definitely want it, I do not need it. I need a longer bed than my current Tacoma has but I don't need an F250 lol. But its priced cheaper than comparable F150's

Wasn't trying to compare... trying to get opinions on if its a good deal (trade allowance aside)

If you can get a good deal and it's something you want or need then go for it.

They sure are beating those fords with ugly sticks now days...

That said, a 3/4 ton for $37K? Holy cow.

Just saw a news article stating how auto sales are way down. Manufacturers are moving inventory, and it's definitely a buyer's market right now.

My thoughts exactly, at least on the pricing. I like the boxy look of the super duty's.

That interior is straight garbage. The exterior isn't much better. That grill is straight pimpin'.

If I could in any way justify a truck larger than a "half ton", it'd be a Ford Super Duty without a doubt. I like them much better than anything the competition has to offer.

That's quite the price. A nicely loaded F-150 XLT is at least that here, probably higher. Hard to tell what the actual sale price would be.

    Well then there ya go...

In 1976, my dad bought a BRAND new 1-ton Chevy Cheyenne 30 with duals for $8,000.

Of course, I think his interest rate was like 22%...

The interior could use a little help I admit. But I do like the vinyl flooring for easy cleaning.

    It is 4x4

Yeah, realized that about the same time you replied by the looks.

Hard to even get a 2WD truck up here, but I figured in Virginia that may not be the case so I looked at the ad again.

Those articles are a bit misleading, sales of cars are down but sales of trucks and SUV are up. Last year was a record at 17.6 million sales and this year is projected at 17.1 million units which is still above normal averages.
