As much as I LOVE the rumble of a big V8 with some exhaust... if I was gonna get a 2500 or 3500 series truck I think I'd want a diesel.

I mean. If you need a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck you probably also need a diesel in it.

If you don't mind me asking, what did they give you on your trade? What year Tacoma did you have and what trim?

Yeah, so there is little to do data apparently on the trade value of a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport simply because it is still brand new. They have low balled my trade offer. SO honestly I don't really care that much, I really only care about the total OTD price. They offer larger discounts on the diesel trucks but they are also $10k more because of the engine. Still haching out the details but we shall see.

My mpg will go to shit once I put 37s on .. don't care about mpg really. My old taco got 11 mpg all day long but it was built.
2012 taco, it was fully built for overlanding. I got 22k for it.

That is ALOT of truck for the money....no doubt...but an XL class F250 is a work truck and it will drive like one. If you prefer that to the Tacoma, sure go ahead, but I imagine as a DD, the Tacoma, even with it's eng/trans drivability issues, is much nicer. And it's starting to look like there are legit fixes for the eng/trans drivability issues available instead of the band-aids people have been using (SSP etc). Anyway, good luck with your decision...life is too short to spend 10 years driving a truck you don't like.

Lol..our friends Prius is known as the douche mobile. Not sure how it got its nick name, but that's what every one that knows them cal it.

Back to the topic, OP how was the test drive on that 250? If we have learned anything with the 3rd gens, test drives are not needed.

Haven't driven it yet, truck is in Richmond, VA and I live in Raleigh, NC. Don't think its going to work anyways, they're trying to get me into an F-150 with the new 2nd gen 3.5 Ecoboost and new 10 speed tranny. its $3000 cheaper, still crew cab 4x4

The limited should offer it and perhaps the pro. Especially for the price. Especially since we aren't paying for quality or reliability like the Tacomas of days past.

I would take the deal they're offering and run it by a local dealer. Bet they can match or beat.

Oh we are paying for it, just some trucks missed that station in the manufacturing plant.

I do agree that the limited and pro should have more.

    I actually just had a 2017 F-250 about a month ago. It was a 4 door long bed with the 6.2L V8.

Pros: ass-tons of "get up and go", minimal throttle lag (especially compared to a third gen Tacoma), I felt like a fucking boss while I drove it (they come with a factory 4" block lift in the back), beefy ass solid front axle

Cons: base model interior was shit, aluminum body is shit (my opinion only), backup camera was tiny, beefy ass solid front axle (rode like shit at speed)

    I had an 11 f250 6.2 and just traded my ram 2500 6.4
The 6.4 is a way better motor then the 6.2
Honestly the ecoboost tows better then both

Why do people post shit like this? Do you really need opinions on trading in your truck. No one cares. Sell/trade your Tacoma that you don't like and move on. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out!
