Oh I wouldn't argue that, I think the F150 looks better than the newer Tundras and you already know where I stand on that :p

Also, the new F150's haven't been out long enough to establish true reliability/stoutness claims either tbh. At least the current gen taco's are starting to near the 200k mark on the 05's in some cases.

    Agreed.

Add the fact that you can buy a similar equipped F-150 for less than a Tacoma...it becomes clear why the F-150 is THE #1 selling vehicle of all time.

    Define vehicle?

If you combine GM's Chevy and GMC marques, they outsell the F150 almost every year they've been in existence. The technology and platforms are almost the same.

But, that aside, I agree with you that the F-150 is the superior truck and probably the best all-around full-size on the market. I would wager the Tundra ends up lasting longer, if lacking a few nice bits (stiffer frame, better interior) of the F150.

Depends on what your purpose in wanting it is. i had a 2005 tacoma, traded for an 07 tundra and now i'm back in a 10 tacoma. the tundra was to much of a truck for me. the only thing i miss was the power. the 5.7L is fun to drive but the gas mileage and rough ride i do not miss. i don't have any kids and rarely tow a trailer so the full size was not necessary. I was only averaging about 14.5 mpg and now getting 20mpg in the taco. just my thoughts. hope it helps.

I'd been contemplating the change back to a full size truck for a few months. I waited until a week or so ago when the F150 Supercab was delivered to the dealership (color combo I liked was not avail anywhere-they ordered for stock or me if I wanted it)
I drove it and found going back to 2 real doors was a mistake. I hated the shifting of the 6spd tranmission. And although the 4.6l 3v engine is well made, the 4.6l Toyota engine felt and sounded better.
We left the Ford store and I drove a Tundra DC.
IMO the Tundra had a far better ride.
I like the Tundra exterior better.
The interior of the F150 is nicer however.
Ford has all new engines for 2011, long overdue. Always their weak point.
No deals to be had on a 2011...

My next truck will be an F-250 with a diesel engine.

Not to replace the Taco, to tow the taco. By that point I hope the taco is so far out that it's not street legal :)

True, Ford's truck engines have been long overdue for redesign. I'm hoping they make use of that 5.0L they're shoving into the '11 Mustang with a retune for more torque earlier in the rev range and less hp on the top end...that engine is super awesome.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .

... ^^^ ... Did the same thing ... traded a 2007 Tundra for a 2009 Tacoma and am very happy.

Have had several Tundras & Tacomas in the past and the Tacoma's present size is perfect for me.

New engines for F-150 include 2 v6's(one eco-boost), the 5.0 liter, and a 6.2 liter. crazy thing is the eco-boost engine makes almost as much power as the 6.2

The tailgate on the Tundra has to be the ugliest slab of dented looking sheet metal on the planet!

Forced induction really need not apply, especially for truck engines. Too many disadvantages. No replacement for cubic inches. The 5.0 and 6.2 have me excited though.

    I agree.

And looking at the profile...the nose looks too short and out of balance with the rest of the truck.

Idk on this one....it is going to get mid 20s in the mpg category. I like the idea and it is by far one of the most innovative engines being used in a full-size truck. Will it last as long as a v-8? Nope. But I guess that's the price you pay in obamaville
