    DAMN!!!! I searched all over for something exactly like this to print off and take it to the shop that did the install. In all honesty, the shop did a great physical install as well as cable management. I met the guy who did it and he seemed pretty young. Maybe just a greenhorn and didn't understand this particular setup. Either way, wish I wasn't so hesitant on working on the truck and did this install myself. It wasn't near as difficult as I was making it out to be once I started troubleshooting the issue. I'm a network engineer by trade and hated the idea of damaging anything on this truck. Lesson learned :facepalm:

    So here is what I've seen after running my Blackvue 590w-2ch for almost a year.
    Parking mode in my driveway usually last from time parked ~5pm to early morning ~5am, roughly 12 hours before the PMP cuts power at 12v. Usually I get 10 or 12 vids of cars going by that the rear camera picks up.
    That has been how it went all spring summer and fall. Truck starts fine at 12v.

    Now that it's getting cold I've switched off parking mode;
    Reason 1; windows are frosted, back window is dirty and covered in snow.
    Reason2; batt life at 12v and -15c is not a good idea, last week I lost the trip odo because the voltage dipped while starting.

    I'll switch it back on once the temps go up again.
    Also thinking about upgrading to a 27f battery to get more run time..

    Thanks, vicali. That's good to know! Luckily I park in my garage so the system shouldn't be triggered too often when i'm home. But when i'm parked at work or out for an evening will be a real test.

    In reply to Caribe, those are the fuses that came with the hardwire kit. The booklet that comes with the setup really doesn't explain anything other than basic use (powering on, hooking up rear cam, etc...) So I'm assuming those 10amp fuses are meant for the initial setup.

    I saw that same video. I was really hesitant on some of the 10A and 7.5A fuses to patch into. I don't know if it's this way on all Tacomas, but I only have three 10A fuses to choose from and they all seemed pretty vital for the car and operation (4WD, A/BAG, IG1). There are more 7.5 fuses to choose from but even then, many of them had some specific importance to the truck that I didn't feel comfortable patching into. I think i'm going to leave things as they are now, but if I ever get to a point where i'm having issues, I might try some of the 7.5amp lighting fuses like the DOME or BKUP LP ones. But even then, those have every day use on the truck vs the two fuses I chose that are rarely ever used.

    I meant the fuse to the camera system. The ones you are tapping into are fine...

    Oh I gotcha. Yeah those were just some that came with the hardwire kit so I never even considered using anything different.

    Also, wouldn't one of those add a fuses be backwards? A lot of people don't know they have a proper orientation.
