Yeah, I tried to post the pic of with the least terrified look on her face. Let's just say, her anxiety that day was in full effect.

Yeah, I think this is a good idea and I'll end up getting one myself. Doesn't hurt to have optional communications systems in your rig either!

On another note, after eating all that dust this past weekend, I have a dorkel on order already

Yeah I saw you disappear in the rearview and guessed you had to nab gas at that exit.

I rocked a dismal 13.8 mpg on the way back. Truck is getting a solid lookover this afternoon.

Parts gathering for suspension upgrades has begun in preparation for this trip and in general.

Picked these up this morning and have the rear suspension stuff on order from Metal Tech.

so much better than CB. the unit your looking at comes with a little antenna that works real well for trail comms.

I'll have to get one of these as well. Seems like no matter how well the CB is tuned it never picks up everything. Which does get frustrating over time.

for all intense and purposes, think of GMRS as the modern CB. it works basically the same with preset channels and such, its super easy to use, but its way more flexible and runs much better, cleaner in all conditions.

a side benefit is GMRS will talk to FRS hand held walkie talkies,,, i gave 6th one of mine and we were chatting away, you guys didnt even know all the smack we were talkin.:D

It was the history lessons on the way. I think for the Peace trail we’ll have to plan sections at a time to explore more. So much out there.

I'll probably go pick up a mounted GMRS unit this weekend. I'm on a 4Runner FB group for Tucson and one of the guys works at a local moto dealership that sells them. Also happens to fabricate drawer systems for 4Runner that are very nice. I might be able to weld, sort of, but I fail at wood working completely.

So on the AZ Peace trail there was interest expressed on pushing back AZBDR this year off until June. Sounds like weather in northern Arizona will be more forgiving then. How does June 11-13 sound to people?

I’ve already asked for that date in April off so we could also do something then too...
