    So we still doing this?

Just got and installed the last bit of suspension stuff today. ADS all around, MetalTech rear coils. Suspension is ready to rock (finishing touches this weekend but it's driveable and already been wheeling). GMRS is installed and I'll get the longer antenna cable done this weekend.

    Flexes much better now.

    I'm going as well, excited.

Though we need to make sure we can pass through the Nation.

If not, we need a backup plan, as I still want to adventure.

Been away from the forums for a while but I have this exact unit but I picked up the 32in whip and the range is pretty absurd for what it is. I can pick up the same radio from Warner and Signal butte all the way out to Usery.

I had a little time today to make a few phone calls and asked this question. Is there any travel restriction through the Navajo Nation? I emphasized that I would not be stopping along the way.

The first agency I called was the Navajo Nation Police Department, the dispatcher informed me that there were no restrictions, but that I should call the Command Center.

So, I called the Command Center, I received a very canned reply with an executive order number 2021-009 that restricted all travel.

Then I called the Navajo County Sheriff’s office, they could not provide me with any information but asked where I planned to drive. I told them I would be on the Eastern side of the reservation. She gave me a number to the Navajo Police Tuba City district office.

I called the Navajo Police Tuba City district office and was told the only restriction was a curfew. So, I told her I would be off the reservation by sunset and would that be okay, the dispatcher said there would be no issue as long as I didn’t break curfew.

I had previously called the Navajo Parks & Recreation asking this question, and all I could get was the parks were closed and they didn’t know about the road access.

I don’t know if this helps or not, but it’s something.

Rez is open for transition visitors. East gate to GC is open. The curfew is 2000 to 0500.

GMRS is licensed, installed, and fully functioning.

If you don't have it yet, I would strongly suggest getting one. Will @Sixthelement and I have crystal clear communication when we are both sitting out front of our houses. We both have the 6db antenna, fyi.

Simply put, blows CB out of the water. Will more easily allow us to space out on the trail, while maintaining clear comms, to avoid eating so much dust.
