Ok mapped out day 1 better given we need to stop in Young to get gas. Let me know what you guys think about the route!

can i suggest,,,, instead of sticking to Young hwy up to the 260,,, a MUUUUCH better route is to take Chamberlain on the north end of Young, through Haigler creek and Colcord out to the 260, just south of the rim, a couple miles and your back at the Young hwy/260

I think it’ll depend on timing. We want to be able to get to our camp spot before dark.

should be doable with an early start, 203 is in pretty good shape, and chamberlain is pretty quick despite how it looks on the map, but you'll know when you stop for gas in Young.

have you done the route? Is it a well maintained road? How long do you think it would take?

Is it part of the AZBDR route? That's kind of the point of this trip, to follow the BDR route.

I'll meet everyone on the rim road north of the 260 Saturday morning, not sure how early the group will make it to the 260 that morning.

No exact spot yet. I'd like to scope things out before the trip. MR E30 has checked the area out though I believe. Says there's plenty of spots. Phessor has camped there too I believe?

Update... Navajo Nation is currently on lockdown. Might not be able to get the permits to take the off-road routes in that area (for anyone wanting to finish Monday morning).

I also updated details for Sunday night.

If the permits are not being issued at that time, then I'm okay with jumping on the 89 to Marble Canyon.
That is were I was going to split from the trail anyway. My plan is to check out Horseshoe bend, head on to Page and Glen Canyon dam and then head on to Monument Valley. Continue into Utah and then head back home.

yea looks like worst case scenario we do 64 to 89 until we get out of the Navajo Nation. We could also camp right before we enter Navajo Nation like I outlined in the original post.

I have, and the area is definitely suitable for us, even in such a large group.

I am doing some exploring south of town to add more content/trip destinations to my website, so I will try to go to your Google Maps pin and provide an update for us all in the next couple of weeks.
