the camp spot in question is just a public campground area, plenty of room but others may be there, although it should be lite this time of year.

there are some great large dispersed camping areas south of the 260 right along the Young hwy just after it turns back to pavement, good easy to get to spots and easy to find the group for late joiners.

i wont make any more suggestions for off route stuff, but if you guys want to know anything about a specific area or something just ask.

So I’m pretty sure I fixed my no 4x prob. I’m waiting for gasket maker to set up and then I’ll fill with gear lube. Dry test confirmed. Just need to take it out for a shake down run. Assuming it’s all fixed I’ll be good to go in this trip. Will be meeting with the crew Friday after work.

Really hoping we don’t get a whole lot of snow the week before we’re out on the trail. Gonna be cold and wet if the weather continues like this

    I agree.

One thing that we may want to touch on, even just so everyone knows/feels comfortable, is how folks on this trip feel about mask wearing and social distancing and all this 'rona shit.

I will not wear a mask on this trip, because we will be social distancing.

The way I see it, we’re outdoors and most of us will be in separate vehicles, so I’m not worried. I won’t be wearing a mask for the most part, but I’m sure anyone who’d prefer to wear a mask is more than welcome to

Cool. That was my thought. I won't be wearing one even while sitting around the fire at night.

Its coming down good today and accumulating well, we desperately need the moisture.

There is some serious mud in a few sections thats not fun to deal with, so we'll see how the weather does over the next few weeks.

Yeah, we need the moisture all over AZ, so I hope it continues for a bit. It can dissipate towards the end of next month when we do this trip!

My main concern with the weather is deep water crossings and slushy snow. There's plenty of trucks that can tackle that no problem, but personally I'm not too fond of water crossings more than a foot deep or so with my current setup.

I’ll be wearing a mask outside my truck and trying to keep some distance. I’ll also bring masks for whoever needs one. As a plus... I’ve been camping with a mask on previously and they keep you super warm!!!

So I do work with COVID patients at my job, but I’ve been fully vaccinated with both shots already. I should have neutralizing antibodies through our trip so I’m extremely low risk of having it and spreading it despite my job. But even so... still gonna wear a mask to help protect everyone further haha.
