Yup. Need just 2 or 3 feet of 3/8" rubber fuel line, that adapter and then reuse the current breather from the axle (the adapter replaces it) at the hose end wherever you put it.

On my '99 Tacoma, I ran it to the fuel filler door and cut a hole in the plastic surrounding the filler cap. Not sure you can do that with 2nd/3rd gens tho. On the 4runner, I have it running up to an area behind the driver side tail light like @MR E30 has done on his Tacoma. Super easy to do.

That looks like good luck to me. That’s exactly what would have happened to me if I’d have planned the trip.

Im reluctant to say that there is a possibility the last time I installed this actuator, I may have completely missed the slot where the fork is supposed to ride. There was a spot last year that @chrslefty and I were messing around where I put it in 4x to crawl out of a crossed up section and it walked right out. I don’t think it would have done that if the front axle wasn’t engaging but who knows. I tested it today and my front end is definitely engaging so maybe I just F#%*ed up the last install.

Glad you got it fixed then! Maybe think about eliminating the ADD and put a solid shaft in there with manual hubs at some point? Just an idea. The ADD is the weak link in the system right now.

My thoughts exactly. Which if that is the case, that means that at some point between then and now, the fork jumped the sleeve. Not sure how that can happen but I guess I’ll need to figure out how to eliminate it in the future. For now it’s working pretty good.

I agree 100%. I’ve read a few different mods to do to keep the ADD out of the equation. The LT presents some issues to going with manual locking hubs but a few guys have figured out a work around. I’m open to suggestions as well.

I thought the add tube was stronger. I know the axels are supposed to be.

I’d heard(read) the same things. I believe it was @Blackdawg that was talking about the differences with the auto vs manual axle differences.

The mod I like the best is to pull the actuator, slide the sleeve into the locked position, install a hose clamp or CV boot clamp to keep the sleeve in the locked position and then close it all up. There is a wiring mod that can be done to keep the dash light working as well. I may go this route if I have any more issues.

Just swap the outer tube and inner axle, you should be able to keep your LT axles.

Hey, anyone have any experience with sumosprings? They look pretty cool. I’m currently running an HD Dakar leaf pack but have a lot of rake with an empty bed. Considering taking out a leaf of the Dakar and adding sumosprings, thoughts?

Since youd be removing them to uninstall a leaf, just sell your Dakars and get Icon RXT leafs. Everyone seems to love them and they are meant to add/remove individual leafs unlike the Dakars which might have questionable results removing a leaf.

Oh the Dakar Heavy Dutys's are meant to be able to take one of the leafs out to make them medium duty.
