So, it's dark and cold out. My question is what's behind the 3rd brake lens? Can the 3rd brake lamp come out? Or do you have to go past the headliner from the inside? I'm wondering as I'm looking to have dings removed from above the rear window on each side of the brake lamp. Thanks for replies!

i haven't really looked, but last time i checked you either need a torx bit or allen wrench to remove it.

you need a torx to remove the outer cover. but it should easily come out from there.

I know about the torx bits but when you remove that, can you get the ligt out to go behind It? Again. The purpose is to access the back of the dings.

It is glued on, the torx screws are to change the bulb. You can take it off carefully with an exacto knife.

Last winter I had my snowblower come back and hit the roof on either side of the brake lamp. The paintless dent removal guy couldn't get tools in there. I had to have the local body shop do the work, removing the headliner, pulling the dents and repainting it all. You can take the lamp off, but there's no real way to push the dents out... Space is minimal and nothing to use to push against for the tools pushing from behind the dents
