OP, imho since we all have one and they all stink....eff the kids and get what you want. They're lucky that you decided to hang around and be called "dad!" lol. J/K of course. I recently drove a minivan and I'm not gonna lie, I really liked it. great gas mileage, stored bikes inside without worry of someone stealing them, the whole side window (huge window) comes down, and even had a cool entertainment system for movies with headphones. Everyone was comfortable and heck...I wouldn't mind having one. But, I see your wife has that portion covered, so I wouldn't worry about a third row or space for kids. They're kids! They'll be happy just to be going somewhere with you. Get what you want and mod the crap out of it and they'll love it as future Toy fans no matter!

Had that done in 1996...after watching the birth of our second daughter...who was 10oz's heavier than our first born. Babies were getting heavier and putting a tremendous strain on my wife.

"It will be easier for me to get snipped, than for you to have the procedure done", I said to my wife.

Once I understood how if affected me (no limitations as most guys downplayed the procedure), my wife signed off (literally/formality) when we talked to military family affairs counselors.

I imagine that kids would fit nicely in the back of a Tacoma because they are less than 4ft tall. Seriously though, no way in hell I'd buy this truck if I had kids, it's a small cab. 4runner would be a much better choice.

Yeah 4runner between the two for sure. Honestly, I'd go Highlander though. I've seen some pretty nice looking Highlander builds if you outfit them with the right gear. Get the tow package and you really don't lose much vs 4runner assuming you don't plan to off-road. 4runner OK for two kids but deff will be cramped with three - similar to how your Taco probably feels with two right now.

My wife wanted a highlander but we ended up with a 2021 Rav4. It's just the two of us and two dogs, I convinced her a highlander wasn't necessary. I will say though, when we test drove it was very comfortable coming from the Tacoma lol. Rav4 was the same, that thing is great for long trips, and is cavernous inside. You can see why both vehicles are popular.

    Workin' on it....
Between the Taco and 4Runner.......4Runner all day long......

With three kids plus needing room for luggage or anything else part of a roadtrip........honestly I think you, the wife and kids would be better served with a Sequoia.

The beauty of a Tacoma over the 4Runner is that you should be able to put 9 or 10 children in it, even with just the 5' bed! And that's just a single layer! I think the 4Runner would get cramped after the 5th or 6th one.

I also have a 2021 Tacoma and 2022 4Runner. The 4Runner is for sure much roomier in the back seat. It fits car seats a lot better, too.

As someone who has fit eleven stupid 18-19yos in my first gen, I can attest that you could probably fit no less than 30 toddlers in one. Prob closer to 40 in a 2nd/3rd gen.

Sounds like someone is trying to hide a case of 4Runner envy. :boink:

Exactly. I don’t understand the point of the thread except for trying to gain acceptance for trading the Taco in for a 4R.

My wife cant take kids 100% everywhere. Believe it or not, we both work full time for a living. I know that's a tough concept for people these days. She cant ALWAYS be the one to drive them everywhere. I wanted to know if people thought the idea of trading the Taco for a 4 Runner would be worth it for those trips. Ultimately I have to be the one to decide, and I get that. But I wanted some input from those who have owned (own) both.
