Given the litigous nature of people and the potential high profile of this incident the dealership is not going to send anyone out to look at the car. I was a second set of eyes on a couple of unintended acceleration law suits at the Porsche / Audi dealership... there were more attorney's in the stall than techs, they just got in the way... having the lead tech taking a set of pedals out of a 911 and 3 attorneys trying to get in on the passenger side to see if they could see something was a joke.
At the trial the doctor revealed that he paniced and claimed unintended acceleration after the highway patrolman arrested him for drunk driving. The highway patrol claimed drunk driving based on the alcohol he smelled on the doctor... it was his aftershave. There was nothing wrong with the car... first rain of the season and traffic was slowed on the freeway, the Porsche driver hit the brakes, she broke loose and hit a vehicle hard enough for serious injury the occupant of the second car. If this was a Toyota Corolla and Ford Mustang it would have been settled by the insurance companies but because it was a Doctor and a Porsche everyone thinks big bucks and easy payday. In the end the only one who wins are the attorneys.

I would probably give the same story if I were driving drunk or doing something too stupid to admit to. Truck in Park, foot on brake... I doubt it.

Only way I can see it surging is if gear didn't engage to park.
And if it didn't there should be record of it in the computer.

Isn't there a TSB for the surge though? Thought the transmission TSB was for it?

Ill admit once or twice ive forgot to put it in park. I didnt hit anything but we do get distracted from time to time. Did she have any kids in the truck? Maybe they were screaming and she forgot to park it

Total.....utter..... BS! If your foot is fully depressing the brake pedal and it goes full throttle you have what is known as a BRAKE STAND!!!

The reason Toyota was not following up is because this is easily proved as BS and they can prove it. People....please....

Has there been any, I mean even one other Taco owner who claimed this exact same thing happened to them?

Okay so I think I could see what happened. The other day as I was coming home I fully pressed the brake pedal and put it in park. When I released the brake pedal the th tuck surged forward. Not sure if the tires actually rolled forward or anything but the truck did jerk.

No way it would have caused this much damage unless she parked right up to a concrete wall and then had the same thing happen.

Maybe....still think she's full of crap though.

I also have the lurching issue when slowly backing out of my garage. Any ways to resolve this?

No fix on this as of yet, just feather you're brakes and let the truck back out itself.. Its fun hooking up my trailer every day lol...

In the video it states the vehicle jumped over the curb and hit the wall, so this was not just a surge forward.
It had to be in gear and the gas pressed to jump the curb, or there was some serious malfunctions of multiple systems which is highly unlikely.
