    Hey all,

Couldn't find any other posts about this so I'm starting this thread. Is anyone else experiencing "pitting" in their side mirrors? The actual mirror, not the paint. I've had my 2016 TRD Sport for three years and the side mirrors have a lot of small pits in them. I mean, I don't live in a sandy desert, and it can get windy in Colorado but this is a little bit much. Perhaps it's because the mirror isn't glass but rather a cheap plastic?

Sorry, I don't have pictures right now but I think the question/description is enough. Will take pictures if needed.

I wonder if it is birds. We have cardinals outside the office that like to fight their reflections, super annoying to the point I fold my side mirrors in.

Haha true story man. I parked my truck outside my garage. Looked over and just saw black. Two crows flying straight at me. Hit my window with a loud bang, they recovered and flew to the roof, banging on it for a few minutes, and finally flew off. I started watching YouTube videos of bird recipes just to antagonize them

Is it possible that they were Ravens and not crows? They typically travel in pairs, and I've read about them attacking cars before. Some people have even had the weatherstripping, wipers, etc. wrecked by ravens actively destroying them

I played chicken with a mid-flight turkey. Those things are huge. Also, they fly. Kinda. Didn’t know that until I moved to where there were turkeys that DGAF.

They can do 50mph once they get moving. They're also dumb as rocks; I actually spooked one and watched it fly 300 yards directly into the side of a building once

Think theyre dumb? I just assumed they sucked at flying. I herd they’re smart. But I haven’t fought a turkey. Yet.

They have great instincts, I'll give them that. But I'd say that they've got the same level of critical thinking skills as a chicken; intelligent in their own way, at certain things. Completely hopeless at others. And if they panic...all bets are off.

Not that humans are much better, honestly.

Definitely could’ve been, there are always 2 of them around my house. What’s the difference between ravens and crows?

Size and tail shape, in terms of appearance. Ravens are bigger and have a wedge-shaped tail when they fly overhead. Crows have their tailfeathers spread out more like a fan when they fly.
Crows also go 'Caw' and Ravens make more of a deeper 'Grok' sound.

In my buddies neighborhood, there was a rash of vandalized mirrors in the span of a couple of weeks. Local police called, big investigation, blah, blah, blah.. Culprit turned out to be a woodpecker! :)

    Which one tastes better?

Nevermind. Sounds like they are ravens just by their sound.
