    Question:

Does a 2013 Tacoma pre runner and a 2013 4x4 have the same third member? Like exactly the same? We are trying to replace the ring and pinion with all the bearings (front, rear and 2 carriers) Everything/everywhere matches what we have originally on the truck but it’s for a pre runner. My truck is a 4X4.

    Some PreRunners were Off-Road.
They had an e-locker. So that one is not the same.
Also, the 2.7L (4 cylinder) trucks had 4.10 gears.
    Yours has 3.73.

What you want is a 3rd member from a 6 lug, 6 cylinder truck WITHOUT an e-locker.

Right! Mine is a 3.73. 12 bolt, 30 spline, 8.4in ring and pinion. When I look for the bearings everything to that match (3.73, 12 bolt, 30 spline, 8.4 in) matches a prerunner, and says nothing about a 4x4. My husband was trying to look it up and found where it said both 2013 pre runners and 2013 4X4 had the same third member. I was trying to confirm that. It would only make since to be the same being we can’t find a match for a 4X4. The place we bought the ring and pinion can’t find a bearing set for that specific ring and pinion. I’m just trying to find the bearing I need. And everywhere I turn no one knows lol

The 3rd member should be the same.
As far as I know, In 2013 Toyota only offered 2 different differentials for the 6 lug trucks.
An 8.4” and an 8”. The 8.4” was in all the trucks EXCEPT the TRD Off-Road trucks.
The Off-Road had the 8” differential.

Have you looked into buying a drop-in fully assembled 3rd member?
That’s a lot easier. And to be honest, it worth the money, time, ease of swapping.
