I think is too wide or something bad with the proportions but is hard to see the pedestrians or vehicles coming from your right or left

Unsure what’s ‘always on the way’. Turning lane? Pedestrian lane? Possibly a crosswalk? Mirror? Parking lot? Bushes? Oh crap handle bar?

A pillar/mirror combination being too big possibly? My 2015 altima and wife’s 2017 terrain block that view aBout as much if not the same as my Tacoma. Perks of needing a windshield, a passenger side window, and a side view mirror.

Says every A pillar since carmakers got serious about rollover and small offset impact protections.

    Enjoy:

I have to assume he mistyped and meant to say "in the way". Clearly hard to see around, but not sure what can be expected to be done about it.

think OP meant "always in the way"..i agree, a lot of vision blocked. i notice it most when navigating around in a parking lot.

The 3rd gen pillars are huge. While I'm happy how much safer it is, often I'm surprised at what's behind the pillar/mirror combo. It can hide an entire car.

I’m a sucker for dead-pan humor like this. But this time I caught myself mid-snort-chuckle and it sounded like an ill conceived scoff.

Just stop a little further back from the intersection and you won't be looking around the pillar. :notsure:

This is due to government safety regulations and requirements. That is why all cars are getting bigger in general. Air bags, crumple zones, load-bearing, etc. You're welcome.

I am not as young as I used to be for some reason, but even with the seatbelt on, slightly bending from the waist, my body is able to move just enough to see around it. Sometimes I have to extend my neck or reposition my head slightly for added visibility. While this maneuver may not be the most technically correct, the safest, or even legal for that matter, it has always worked for me.

I'm running vent visors and a snorkel so subtract 4 inches of vis. Still not an issue.
